Shoes! Omg! : Cadillac Short Booties

I'm in love with anything 80s goth-esque, especially foot wear! As a young girl I always wore little fashion boots and booties and preferred to wear these styles rather than tennis shoes. I still dream of my red leather boots I received on my 7th birthday. Sigh. Anywho, the Cadillac Short Booties by ZigiNY are on my 'wish list', I may not need another pair of boots, but then again what's the fun in being practical!? I own a similar pair of buckle boots that are my everyday shoes, you can see me wearing them below.

My hubby snapped this picture of me outside our apartment building, rockin' a typical casual day look. Since I've been on this casual goth subject in my blog posts, I wanted to share my day-to-day fashion. It was super windy out and for some reason I look pregnant (no preggers here!), hehehehe! It was a bandana day as my hair needs to be washed and I'm feeling a little under the weather, so I needed to cover up my mop.

I snapped a photo of Derek as he always looks nice, even though I'm realizing I should hem those pants for him. I love that he wears the bat necklace I bought for him everyday. :)

Thanks for reading!!!

XOXO-Meagan Kyla

  1. Those boots are really cute. Because I'm not tall, I like ankle boots as sometimes long boots come up too far on my leg and make me look really out of proportion. I think I have some boots similar style to yours with the buckles too (mine have skull buckles). I'm having more problems finding footwear these days as I'm vegan so no longer buy leather. I've still got a lot of leather shoes and boots in my wardrobe (as what good would putting them in landfill do the animal?) but have made a point of only buying non-leather in the last three years. There seems to be an idea that if you're vegan you want to look like a hippy or a traffic warden...there's some really ugly shoes out there lol The US seems to be better as there's a bigger market and you're lucky to have so much more choice over there. I know you can but on the internet (and I have) but you sometimes get slapped with huge import fees or it's such a hassle when the fit is small or big.
I love your jacket! I really like red and black stripes and have a long skirt and jacket in a narrower stripe...not exactly casual though (I told you I'm rubbish at casual). You look good...and your husband looks like a really nice guy :-)

    1. I have a lot of vegan friends and they have the same issue with finding non-leather shoes. Demonia makes cool shoes that are usually man made materials. I do understand about buying internationally, it's a risk and can often be a pain, especially in the shoe department.

  2. The shoes look so pretty, I think they would be perfect for you! And you both look fabulous, the bandana looks nice on you :)

    1. Thank you for the kind words! I really do adore those little booties! I once wore a bandana on my head for a whole year while I waited for my hair to grow out (I shaved most of my hair...don't ask me why, hahaha!).

  3. I like pointy boots and shoes on other people but never feel comfortable in them myself. I can safely say I have never worn a pair of pointy shoes in my life. (minus cowboy boots) Just a thing with me. I think it has something to do with not wanting my feet to look bigger than they are. I dunno.
I wish I could get over that because my options would open up exponentially. sigh.... I guess I'll just have to covet your boots instead. ;)

    1. I used to hate, hate, HATE pointy shoes, now I love them. I used to think the same way as you, but it's all in finding the *right* pointiness for you. I'm not a fan of those pointy alligator type heels that were popular a few years again, the ones you paired with wide leg pants. I actually think they are very body slimming when worn with the right outfit. :) I could picture you wearing the old school witchy coffin heels and pulling it off nicely.

    2. Something like this: http://www.vampirewear.com/item_238/DF--Witch--066A.htm, they are sorta like pointy training wheels. Heheehehe!

  5. Question to you: How the hell do you wear a bandana? I've been wanting to wear one but I can't figure out how to do it with my hawk.
Maybe another awesome video so you can show me? I want to my bandana to look as cute as yours!

    1. Hahahaha! I can definitely teach you! That is a good idea for a video, I guess it comes so naturally as I've been rockin' one since I was 14.....and well....it's been a long time ;)It's definitely an awesome option when you don't want to deal with your hair and still wanna have a fun look. Think Rosie the Riveter.

  6. I think I might get a pair of those boots, as they aren't that expensive. I only wear flat shoes, and I find my goth footwear options quite limited because of this. It's always my black pointy cowgirl boots or Skecher mary-janes.

    Our hubbies are name twins!

  7. There are a world of cute shortie gothy boots out there, I'm on a quest to find them for the flat wearer's er's. Hahahahaa! I do love cowboy boots though, so good option :)

Yay! Derek and I always talk about how the name Derek seems to be the 'bad guy' or jerk in 80s movies. LOL! Oh Derek!
