A Bat Bow, a Witch and Two Outfits

Hello friends! You've already seen this sweater a few weeks ago, but it's too cute to not want to style and wear it a variety of ways. I generally don't gravitate towards pullover style sweaters, yet I seemed to have acquired a few over this past year.

The bat headband was an impulse buy while ordering some pants from H&M. I could have made the headband myself and I wish I had, as the headband squeezes my will to live.....and my head. I'm hoping I slip off the bow and put it on a headband that is more comfortable.

The bow is still super fun to wear!

Wearing; sweater (Too Fast Clothing), Peter Pan collar shirt (Vintage Galeria), bat bow headband (H&M), pants (H&M), winklepicker shoes (thrifted)

Say hello to our newest blow mold addition, Miss Witchy Poo! I was so excited when the owner of the antique store across from work was kind enough to sell me his precious vintage witch. We collect blow molds (especially Halloween ones) and I've only seen this particular witch online and one or two house's lawns during the Halloween season. Side note-Derek and I like to play spot the blow mold. Hehe! We are both excited to have her and to be able to enjoy her for many years to come. :)

And the outfit, Though I wouldn't use the fashion term, "witchy", to describe my ensemble, yet it was certainly comfy! I dug out my little mini fedora hat in order to tame my mane, which I plopped on my head as a last minute outfit accessory. We were leaving the house to do some thrift shopping and I like to have my hair out of my face, so it dawned on me that I had been neglecting my hats.

Wearing; little fedora (old, TJ Maxx), oversize button down shirt (old, Forever 21), long sweater and black crushed velvet leggings (H&M), burgundy boots (6pm.com), bat necklace (old, eBay), bone necklace (Purgatory Plaything), pewter bone hoops (Martha Rotten).

I can't believe Halloween is only 6 days away. Crazy! We went to one Halloween party on Sunday and have costumes planned for a party on Halloween day, but I'm realizing I should dress up for the two parties we have this coming weekend. Time to dive into the costume boxes!

Are you going to any Halloween parties?

Thank you for reading, until next time!

It's Sweater Weather!

I am happy that I get to dive into my sweater collection, we've been having the weirdest Autumn so far and from day-to-day I have to double and triple check the weather channel in order plan on how I should dress. Last week we had a very rainy and cold days, which made me happy since I could wear my leather jacket. Hehe!

Wearing; sweater (old style, Sourpuss Clothing), dress (TOBI clothing), leggings (Carousel Ink), boots (6pm.com) earrings and necklace (thrifted)

The dress was the last one featured in my blog post about TOBI clothing and it's proving to be a wonderful dress for layering. They still have the dress on their website and it still gets two thumbs up from me!

When we got this cardigan in at work (last year), I thought that I didn't need it, but then I realized I was crazy. Of course I need a sweater with coffins on it, it's part of the name of my blog, I have many coffins tattooed on me (including my chest) and I LOVE coffins.

Wearing; coffin sweater (Hell Bunny), stripe top (thrifted), skirt (eshakti), boots (6pm.com), spider necklace (Pier 1), coffin bead earrings (Sourpuss Clothing), and eyeball fascinator (hat=made by me, eyeball=made by Derek).

Speaking of coffins, I was very happy to now to wearing my Mordaunte's coffin gem ring that was a 5 year anniversary gift from Derek. I hate to say that it sat in the box for 2 years before I realized that it does fit my right ring finger. When Derek first gave it to me, we thought it was too small and need sizing, well I finally took it to a jeweler to only realize that we were wrong and I've been now happily wearing it everyday! Shout out to Sharon (Goth Gardening) for inspiring me to finally take my ring to a jeweler after seeing her amazing Instagram post about her Mordaunte ring along with another gorgeous cameo ring. Thank you dear!!!

Jack-o-Lantern Knees

I saw these jack-o-lantern face tights at Spirit (Halloween store) for $5 and I couldn't resist! I think they are so incredibly cute and they are just perfect for the Halloween season. I've been finding myself wanting to add some stockings to my collection, because they are an inexpensive way to freshen up the wardrobe.

Wearing; lace dress (thrifted), black I always wear, tights (Spirit Store), spiked creepers (TUK Shoes), bone velvet bow (DIY), necklace (etsy), pewter bone earrings (Martha Rotten), beaded bracelets (thrifted)

I've been doing really well with my 'wear everything' campaign and have been rediscovering how to wear pieces. I still shake my head at my past self for putting this little lace dress in the donation pile for being slightly too big. Now I have to stop myself from wearing it everyday and wish I could clone this cut into different fabrics. Oh silly me!

Do you have a favorite piece in your closet that you wish you could clone?

Thank you for reading, until next time!

Help For Chronically Vintage

Hello friends,  I hope everyone has been enjoying their October so far. Before I get into chatting about the outfit, I wanted to share that one of our very own in the blogosphere has experienced a horrific tragedy and I'm sharing with you how you can help. Jessica of Chronically Vintage and her husband Tony have been victims of a house fire caused by arson. There is a donation page and a Facebook page if you want to send them a card or donate anything to help them.

Wearing; ribcage sweater (old, Too Fast Clothing), skater dress (thrifted), black and white striped leggings (old, H&M), velvet choker (old, ???), boots (Dr. Martens)

My heart goes out to Jessica, Tony and her family <3

Some of This Week's Work Outfits

Hello friends! This week has been filled with some pieces that haven't appeared on the blog in a long time, like this gray bat t-shirt that was last spotted in an outfit post from 2013! Egads! It's a weird t-shirt material and I believe I also got a stain on the bottom of the hem, so it's definitely a 'tuck in' sorta top.

Wearing; gray bat t-shirt (old, Sourpuss Clothing), belt I always wear, skirt (old dress cut into a skirt), spider web stocking (Leg Avenue), hearse necklace (old via Cats Like Us, put onto a rosary bead chain), winklepicker shoes (vintage, London Underground)

The shoes! The shoes were my main focal point to this outfit, because Julie Ann thrifted these vintage 90s London Underground winklepickers for $5!!! THRIFT FIND OF THE YEAR!!!! Thank you Julie Ann!

They are an amazing lower shoe style which I have been lusting after, and VOILA! Wishes can come true! They need a little polish, but I was too excited to wear them. <Insert giddy giggling> Here are my vintage London Underground winklepicker boots.

The punk cupcakes dress has appeared on the blog, here, here and here, but this is my favorite styling so far! Side note-holy crap my hair has gotten long!

The little knit Peter Pan collar top fits so nicely layered under the jumper style dress and I love the way it seamless looks like one whole dress! I have to admit I impressed myself with my wardrobe mix-n-match skills. Hahaha!

Wearing; knit Peter Pan collar top (Hot Topic), Punk Cakes dress (old style, Folter Clothing), belt I always wear, purple coffin pin (freebie with order from Summer Blue Jewelry) boots (via 6pm.com)

Definitely been having a lot of fun during October getting dressed for work. Though I wear Halloween-esque things throughout the year, it's really freeing to be able to get a little more ridiculous than usual. *Wink*

Thank you for reading, until next time!!!

The Great Pumpkin Farm 2016

On Sunday morning Derek and I bundled up and took our annual trip to The Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence, NY. Seeing as the Autumnal weather was visiting us once again, we both decided to adorn ourselves with coats, hats and a few extra accessories....so basically everyday attire. Hahaha!!!

Since we're basically big kids, we maneuvered through the crowd and took time to take advantage of the photo op props that are placed around the pumpkin farm. I have to say that we noticed the vast improvement of art and other fun from previous years and are delighted to have seen this great place grow!

I couldn't resist posing with the Witch since I was wearing my mini witch hat. We got a lot of compliments and comments, but my favorite was a little boy who exclaimed, "Whoa! She's a Witch!". Shhhhh, Kid. Don't give away my secrets. *Wink*

Our actual anniversary was yesterday and we celebrated 7 years of marriage, laughter everyday and lots of goofball activities. I love this man with all my heart and I couldn't ask for a better life partner and best friend.

Any who enough of the mushy stuff...thank you for reading my friends!

Halloween Art Show

Derek had a painting in a Halloween themed art show at our friend's shop, 125 Art Collective, which was Friday evening. Naturally, Derek had to wear the jack-o-lantern suit that we got him this year. Our first trip the Spirit store (a pop up Halloween store chain that is owned by Spencer Gifts) came away with this suit and another suit that has spider webs all over it, because I encourage him to be ridiculous....always.

I did a quick change from my work clothes and slipped on this puff sleeve hi-low dress. Though I wasn't super Halloweenie, I felt very elegant and edgy in this outfit. I love the comfort and the drama of the dress and felt like I didn't need to accessorize too much, as the dress sorta speaks for itself. Oh yeah, you can't see my awesome shoes due to lighting, I will have to chat about those later.

Wearing; dress (via eBay), bat purse (Iron Fist, gift from Derek), spider web tights (Leg Avenue), shoes (gift from Michelle), bone hoop earrings (Martha Rotten), Siouxsie eyes pin (Last Craft)

We had a great evening, looked at a lot of great art and chatted with a lot of awesome people. I am eternally grateful that Buffalo embraces all sorts of art and so many talented people are involved and participating and supporting each other.

Thank you for reading, until next time!

Featuring a Munsters Necklace

Eh, I didn't know what to title this blog, but it does feature a Munsters themed tile necklace! I bought this necklace at a local tattoo studio a few months ago and didn't know what to wear with it until I was inspired by the Vampiress dresses' collar (also styled here) and watching The Munsters early yesterday morning.

I also styled the dress with my rhinestone spider brooch that I wore on my wedding day and some beaded earrings I picked up for a few dollars at a consignment shop. I find that you can get some really nice 'basic' jewelry pieces from thrift shops, estate sales, etc.

Wearing; Vampiress dress (Hell Bunny, older style), Munsters necklace (hand made via 125 Art Collective), spider brooch (???), earrings (thrifted), studded brogue shoes (old, via 6pm.com)

Taking the skirt out for a 'spin'

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Ours will be filled with work, finishing up decorating for Halloween, working on our costumes and cleaning the interior of the car. SUCH AN EXCITING LIFE WE LEAD. Hahahaha!!!

Thank you for reading, until next time!

Creepy Cute Sweaters by Too Fast

Very excited that I can wear my new sweaters from Too Fast clothing (not a sponsored post) like the Moon Bats Cult Sweater I got from my Halloween Haul at work. Moons and bats and stars, oh my!

This sweater is a bit longer, roomier and oh-so-soft! I paired the sweater with leggings, a little stretch skirt and my Dr. Marten boots. Basically a simple outfit that is combo I will often be seen in cooler months. I am ready! So very ready!

No matter what I try to always wear some accessories!

The other sweater is the Eerie Cemetery cardigan that I had been lusting after since I had seen it in Too Fast's catalog. Though we didn't order it for work, I knew that it had to be mine! I dragged my heels and didn't order the sweater from their website (it sold out), so I tracked the sweater down and got it from an ebay store. Though I am happy I purchased the sweater, the sleeves are way too short for me and quality is not as nice as the other Too Fast sweaters we sold at work.

BUT, I have already worn the cardigan more than 5 times as it pairs with basically everything in my wardrobe. (Like my Lucy Fur leggings) and it washed up very nicely! I may purchase a second one in a larger size and see if that helps with the sleeve length, but knowing me I'll just wear it with a long sleeve t-shirt and call it a day.

I hope you've been enjoying the Halloween wares I've been sharing, I've been prepping for these purchases since I've seen the catalogs last year!

Working in retail=lots of self control
Working in retail around Halloween=no self control

Until next time!
