Outfit of the Day : Thrown Together

This outfit started out as a "I don't care" sentiment in mind, but as I built the ensemble with a few layers and accessories, I felt a lot more inspired. I've been drawn to more flowy and loose garments on these hazy and humid days during the remaining parts of the Buffalo summer. I add the hat is just a rad piece in my wardrobe. Hehe!

I'm actually in a good mood, but face says "mehhhhh"...?!

I'm wearing a pair of new earrings that I treated myself to from my Tuesday trip to the mall to visit Yankee Candle. (I'm obsessed with the Halloween scents from Yankee Candle.) Though my month long 'no-buy' has been very successful, I decided I deserved a treat, so candles and earrings were in order.

Couldn't say no to $4.95 earrings!

Halloween is creeping in, which makes me excited for Autumn, but not for the long winter months that soon follows.

Shoes! OMG! : Deadly Damsel Gothic Cameo Heels

The Deadly Damsel Gothic Cameo Heels are just so darn darling! I just can't resist a lovely damask print paired with an elegant skeleton cameo, then add a bow and it's got me saying, "Awwwww!". As mentioned in the description, the shoe does run small with only full sizes available, but an added bonus is that Plasticland ships internationally!

Please Pardon Our Dust....

We're moved in, hoooooooray!!!!! Now I need to find homes for everything including all my clothing, hair products, accessories and shoes. I really like our new place, but we are sacrificing closet space for more living space, so it's been a bit of a challenge. Yet, I am excited to have my own vanity which is something I've wanted for years. I picked up an old 50s style blonde wood desk at a thrift store which will act as my beauty roost, a place to put on my make up and style my hair along with having everything I need in one spot.

Timer going off and trying to fix my collar=silly face

Along with moving, I've been giving my hair a rest from all the hair products, straightening, etc., so I am rockin' my mini fedora for a day of running errands.

What I'm wearing:
-dress, thrift store
-vest, thrift store
-creepers, TUK Shoes
-mini fedora, T.J. Maxx

Kitsch Picks : Greaser Creatures

How clever are these candles by Greaser Creatures!? These creative candles would make a great gift to yourself or to a friend, giving the gift of kitsch that keeps on giving! I wonder if she could make a Saint Robert Smith, I will fill my whole apartment with them! It would be funny if the lyric's for the song "Prayers for Rain" were printed on the back. Teehee!

Perfect Ending to a Long Week

Derek, me and his creepy hand. Hehe!

Ok, it's not the end of the week yet, but for me it's over, phew! Derek and I joined our friend's for Buffalo's longest running ebm/goth night, Radiation. I was looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying a few cocktails to wind down and chit chat about what everyone has been doing.

This skirt is so much fun to dance in!

Since all my shoes and jewelry are over at the new place, I was running back and forth trying to figure out what to wear. I settled on this skirt that was given to me by my friend Melanie, a top from Charlotte Russe (it's so old!) paired with some belts and my pointy witchy boots that I resurrected. How were they resurrected? Well, the boot leather was so creased in the toes that they were uncomfortable to wear, so I literally ironed the creases out! I have to admit I Goggled the 'how-to' and I can't give you the exact link to the directions, but it involved a damp cloth, a clothing iron and being very careful.

When in doubt, I accessorize....a lot.

Cheers! The beautiful Miss Melanie and I.

Do you have tips on how you take care of your old leather boots?

WWD MAGIC Tradeshow

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their week so far, I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Las Vegas, NV for the WWD MAGIC which was a work trip for Cats Like Us. If you're not familiar with MAGIC, it's is the world's biggest fashion tradeshow. Pretty crazy huh?

Julie Ann, Andrew and I spent four days meeting with our vendors, looking for new vendors and taking the seminars provided by the tradeshow. I learned a lot, meet some awesome people, and got to see some of Vegas in the meantime. The trip was a whirlwind at times and slow at others, we got a lot of work done, though it was exhausting, it was very exciting as it was my first time in Vegas.

Where's Meagan?

Some of the vendor booths I snapped photos of:

Sourpuss Clothing
I love them! Can't wait for their Halloween designs to land in the store.

Kreepsville 666-Chatted with the owners, they are so rad!

Shrine Clothing

Alchemy Gothic
One of each please!

Trashy Diva
Miss Julie Ann snapping photos of what we ordered.

Folter Clothing
Their Halloween goodies are awesome!

Miss Wendi from Hell Bunny and I have Badtz Maru tattoos! We
were both excited!

There is so much more to share, but I'll leave that for another blog, I'm still recovering from the trip and processing all the data. Hehe! I will leave you with a snap of the cute shoes that the gal from Too Fast Clothing was rockin', very cute!

Outfit of the Day : Going Out With the Gals

I wore this outfit last night to meet up with my fine lady friends for some drinks. It was nice to get out for a little, sip some tasty beverages and catch up with the lady gang. Cue : "This is Ladies Night"

I was feeling pretty cute, especially after spending days looking like a scrub with not putting too much energy to put into my appearance. I don't think I need to put make-up on to wash the floor and scrub the bathroom, they don't seem to mind that I'm half eyebrow-less, wearing a mismatched ensemble and walking around with shoes that have a giant hole in them. *Wink*

Outfit of the Day : Cotton T-shirt Dress

Oh yes, feeling a little goofy after all the moving that Derek and I accomplished today. Even though we're only moving across the courtyard from our current place, it's a lot of work and I'll do a jig once we're all done. I hate moving, but bigger kitchen and Tiki room (aka dining room) makes it all worth it.

I took a shower and slipped into one of my favorite types of outfit, a dress, pair of leggings with a pair of boots. I'm calling the dress a 'cotton t-shirt dress' as it's just as comfortable as wearing a t-shirt, it's from H&M's Divided Basic line and I think the price is around $12.95. I love this dress so much that I went out and bought another one, because I can't have just one of these comfy beauties! Speaking of buying things, I'm on a 'no buy' quest this month, it's voluntary task that I bestowed on myself in order to keep better track of my spending. I have been stressed out with all the changes going on (nothing bad!) that I have a tendency to indulge in retail therapy and well, I wanted to nip it in the bud. Shopping is not a cure for stress, so I'm taking my own advice about spending/budgeting. My no buy August is only limited to things that are extras, so items for the move, household items, toiletries, food, gas, etc. are A-OK! Derek says "You don't have to do this", but it's actually grounding me a bit and I've become a lot more focused. Yeah, I'm weird.

Bonus photo with Ice Bat!

Have you ever had a 'no buy' month?

Outfit of the Day : I'm Feeling Cle(a)ver

I wore my BUTCHER pendant (and chain) by Spragwerks on Saturday as I was feeling very cle(a)ver. Ha! The set was a gift from Derek a few years ago as Derek is good friend's with Rich and has worn Spragwerks pieces for years. The neat thing is that Rich was on Project Accessory, he didn't win (boooo!), but it was fun to cheer him on!

Simple outfit, but I was digging the 60s-esque vibe I have going on which just sorta happened. *Wink*

Crossbone loafers!

What I'm wearing:
-necklace, Spragwerks
-lace top, Forever 21
-black jeans, Target
-shoes, Y.R.U

Shoes! OMG! : Pointed Buckle Creepers by TUK Shoes

Empty room in new apartment equals a photo op

What do you get when you take a creeper mixed with a pointy boot and add buckles? A very, VERY happy me! Thank you TUK Shoes for making these lovely creations and to think Derek thought I was crazy for loving these and now he is thinking about getting a pair. Muahahaha!

I picked up the Black Leather Pointed Creepers at hottopic.com on a random 30% off sale day. Their website is so weird, one day something will be full price, then half off, then back to full price! What the? Okay, back to the creepers.....

Thrift store dress $3

The creepers are great as I love the style and the low sole, but I will warn those with wide feet-these are not for you-they are very pointed and even a little tight in the toe for me and my narrow feet. It's going to painful breaking these babies in, ouch already!

Happy Shoes! OMG! Thursday!

Outfit of the Day : Vampira in Stripes

Okay, well Vampira is not literally in stripes...I am! I wore this outfit to work on Saturday and it was my first time wearing the striped vest, I keep telling myself I need to leave this one alone. Hehe! Who am I kidding, I have so many other personal DIY projects to finish first!

I featured the Vampira top by Kreepsville 666 on a past Kitsch Picks, though you can't see the full design, the top reads "Vampira's Ghoul Gang". I love it!

What I'm wearing:
-black & white stripe vest, Sourpuss Clothing
-Vampire top, Kreepsville 666
-skirt, zooshoo.com
-legging, Forever 21
-creepers, Demonia (old)

Derek and I are getting ready to move in the next few weeks, so our apartment is a little chaotic at the moment, but it's a good time to get more organized! I've been looking through the ikea catalog and making lists of organizational opportunities that can be tackled in the new place. I am dreading what lies in the basement storage. Dun, dun, dunnn!!!!

Outfit of the Day : Atomic Robot Skirt

I wore this outfit to work on Friday featuring my new Red Space Cadet Thrills skirt. I love the kitsch and atomic print, so I had to add this beauty to my wardrobe.

I paired the skirt with a black short sleeve button-up top, black vinyl belt, ruffled socks with creepers, and accessorized with silver bat necklace, spider web button earrings and coffin watch. I have my hair tied up in a hair scarf, as I've been affectionately calling the way I've been wearing my hair, a "deathrock beehive", it made Derek giggle when I told him. Hehe!
