Leggings, Leggings, Everywhere!

One of my favorite wardrobe staples are leggings, I would even go as far to say that I'm a little obsessed with them. My love of leggings was spawned in the 80s when I would rock my pink glittery cat sweaters with matching pink leggings to school. Though my days of cat sweaters are over, I still love leggings and this blog is dedicated to the current trend of patterned leggings. Remember what I say about a trend, benefit from the trend by purchasing items when they are readily available!

Step this way and drool with me while I internet window shop!

Photobucket

These leggings are brutal by Actual Pain. The Sixth Seal (left) and Pentangled (right) leggings come with a steep and satanic price tag of $42, yet it's a small price to pay when summing the dark forces. Hehe!

Photobucket

I adore the Pippi Leggings in Poppy Red by Carousel Ink. The leggings are silk screened with orignal artwork inspired by Pippi Lockstocking. I like that these leggings are 95% cotton as I find cotton leggings the most comfortable to wear. These beauties are $28, what a steal for such a unique piece!

Photobucket

One store that has a huge variety of leggings is the Only Leggings Superstore. Prices seem to range from $12 to $55. I've never ordered from them as most of the leggings are a polyester blend, but there are so many awesome choices! Take a look!

Oh my! I've got the leggings itch and you think that after cleaning and organizing my closet I'd be satisfied......nahhhhhh.

Do you wear leggings? If so, what are your favorite pair?

Bein' A Cemetery Creep

Photobucket
Instagram photo Derek took
On Saturday I got to be a cemetery creep for my friend Zach Rose as he shot some 26 year old expired litho film with his 4x5 camera. Basically he wanted me to "look creepy", which I think I can handle pretty well. Hehe. I decided to take my velvet cape that Derek got for me out for a spin, though it was 80+ degree weather, I think it was worth it for the desired effect. It was a little windy that day, so the cape was blowing in the wind and I was singing "Bela Lugosi's Dead" and acting like a Vampire (more like a silly girl) in-between shots.

Here's the result after processing the 26 year old expired film. Pretty cool huh? I absolutely love black and white film processing, I did experiment a lot in high school and through some of college (sadly I never got my degree) as I wanted to be a photographer. It's definitely still an interest and a casual hobby of mine, but I'm always honored to be asked to participate in such neat artistic endeavors.

Weekend Fun

Photobucket
Melanie and I <3

Friday night was fun dance night at Radiation, our monthly goth/industrial dance night in Buffalo. We hadn't been in two months since Derek and I were out of town on the weekend's Radiation is usually held. I was happy to see my friends and twirl on the dance floor.

Miss Sarah Viscera looks cute

I didn't get a chance to take any outfit photos before heading out, so the above snap shot with Sarah was incredibly unflattering. I blurred out the bad parts of me and laughed the whole time I was doing it. Teehee. I am wearing my new dagger leggings and the new vest I've been working on, the vest is coming along nicely.

Photobucket
Not quite done yet!

It's a lazy Sunday over here and I'm resting these old lady bones. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Ladies In Black Theme : Inspired By A Song

I have to admit I was a little at a loss over what to do for the Ladies In Black : Inspired By A Song theme until I started looking at some old photos. I was looking at the photos as I'm gearing myself to go out with a few of my friends tonight that I've been going to clubs with for about 10 years now. Crazy, I know. So, I was inspired by these photos I am about to share as I have a very deep love for Switchblade Symphony's music and fashion sense.....perhaps back then I loved it a little too much.

I fell in love with the babydoll cutesy look, curls, bows, dreads, babydoll dresses, maryjanes, etc. I guess you could say I was doing Gothic Lolita before I even knew what that was, mixed with (what today would be called) Kinderwhore. I still love all the lace, ribbons, etc. and still infuse the small details in with my current wardrobe. I still love twirling to uber gothy songs, like "Clown" by Switchblade Synphony and being oh-so-dramatic. *Hand. Staple. Forehead*
Though I've retired my jumper dresses, faux hair, and pouty doll lips, I will forever love Switchblade Symphony.

Shoes! OMG! : Oxford Platform Creepers

Photobucket
Hrmmmm, I wouldn't necessarily call these shoes "creepers" as the description above states, but these little platform boots caught my eye on ebay. They are just the right amount of platform fun mixed with a lace-up style combat boot, buckles and stud details. My only issue is ordering from China. I have nothing against the country itself, I just used to shop in Chinatown in downtown Toronto, Ontario and I know that the shoes usually run small. And what about the quality, is it worth the $19.99 shipping?

Have you ever ordered shoes from an Asian ebay store?

Ice Cream and Sculpture?!

Wednesday is a day off for Derek and myself, we usually choose fun adventures or just get household tasks done. Then again, what fun is doing chores on your day off?! I had been craving an ice cream sundae and though I'm lactose intolerant, I took a lactaid pill and hoped for the best! We headed to Parkside Candy which is definitely one of the neatest (and historic) places in Buffalo to enjoy the view while feasting on ice cream delights.

Photobucket
My ice cream sundae is huge compared to Derek's. Oink oink!
PS-I didn't feel sick! YAY!

Photobucket
View from our little booth. Mmmmm candy!

I may complain about Buffalo from time-to-time, I think we all do when it's a place we've pretty much lived our whole lives, yet there are some amazing things to do that may have been forgotten about! I would love to get my lady friends together and come back to Parkside Candy to gossip over mountains of ice cream!

Derek and I took about an hour drive south to Griffis Sculpture Park, which I have been wanting to visit for years. The sculpture park is definitely one of those gems in the Western NY area that many people either don't know about nor have never visited. I sorta understand if you're not the outdoor hiker type (raises hand), that you wouldn't be too excited to make the journey. Derek and I excepted the challenge and not only did it kick our asses, but it was well worth the sweat and sore muscles!

Warning: Many pictures of silly people enjoying playing amongst the sculptures.

All silliness aside, this sculpture was my favorite. The way the figure is positioned with a sober and elegant mood it conveyed to me. I also thought it was very Tim Burton-esque, so naturally I was drawn to it. She stood over looking a small pond which was surrounded by other sculptures, so we sat down to admire the view and have a drink of water (I was sweating like a pig!).

Phew! I'm feeling the burn today! Not that I'm a delicate flower, but it made me realize how I'm not a hiker nor that experienced with rough terrain. I am pleased with myself as I did something out of my "comfort zone" which is always makes me glad that participated in the experience. What I did not enjoy was using the out house........yeah.

Coffin Kitsch Is BUSY!

Photobucket

My etsy shop has been rockin' (I don't want to jinx it!) as I have been busy in the Coffin Kitsch sweat shop a.k.a my hot apartment, sewing up a storm! I also had my first attempt at hand dying denim (black!) with much success, yet I learned it's messy and I am going to improve my technique. I try to work smart not hard!

Collection of instagram photos of my vest creations.

I really enjoy upcycling items and making them into something fresh and new! As I was sewing yesterday I thought, "Wow, I'm really doing what I love to do", the 16 year old girl who dreamed of being a fashion designer would have been proud. I'm feeling pretty accomplished lately and though I'm not doing anything ground-breaking, I like to make things for people who enjoy something different than the norm. DIY FTW!!!!!

Going To See The Priests

Derek and I went to Rochester, NY to see The Priests, a defunct garage rock band that got together for a reunion show. I was excited as I used to see The Priests whenever they came to Buffalo years ago and they did not disappoint last night!

I had to base my outfit around the fact that I got my Siouxsie Sioux portrait on my other thigh! The 16 year old girl in me was gitty with utter joy as Derek was tattooing me. I did get teary-eyed at one point, shhhhhh! It wasn't due to the pain, it was the fact that it personally meant a lot to me to have two (of what I consider) post-punk royalty on me!

I realized I hadn't worn my creeper boots in a while, they are one pair of boots I always forget about! I also wore a button-up top that I also hadn't worn in a while, it's from H&M which I bought years ago. The top is adorned with spider webs, moths, keys and branches, pretty cute!

Fashion : Takin' A Look Back

I am taking a look through older pictures from 2010-2011, and I thought I would share some of my outfits! It's also making me miss my red hair....blonde too! I have to admit, I like being a black head. *Wink*

Photobucket
I always love the way a blazer 'nips' in at the waist

Shoes! OMG! : Big Buddha News

Photobucket
The Big Buddha News in burgundy puzzled me, are they a shoe or are they a sneaker? Well, it seems like you get the look of a dress shoe and the comfort of a sneaker all-in-one! I'm really digging the idea of wearing something for comfort and not having to settle on ugly jogging sneakers, I'm sold! These would look so cute with a pencil skirt and t-shirt, or with a pair of black skinny's and a button-up blouse. Easy breezy style with a retro cool style.

Psy-psy-psy-PSYCHO!

I'm dusting off the psychobilly music after I 'a-billy'ed myself six months ago when Derek and I dj'ed an event which we called "The Psycho Sock Hop". Out of pure accident and I was trying to comb down my mohawk and I gave myself a huge pomp.

Photobucket
You will often see my wearing my hair teased up and back into a pomp, yet since my hair is getting longer it's looking more full and BIG. Big is good and I was very pleased. *Wink*

Photobucket
Auditioning to be a member of Mad Sin

I took one of my best friend's Danielle out on an adventure and though it was ridiculously hot, I threw on my vest, a pair of rolled up black skinny's and my creepers. I stepped in front of the mirror and bust into laughter and said out loud, "Wow I look like psychobilly dude". I'm okay with it, don't get me wrong.

So I was inspired by my look on Sunday to share with you some of my favorite bands/songs that get my toes tappin'. Enjoy.....

The Meteors

Long Tall Texans

Batmobile

Demented Are Go! (One of my all time favorite bands!)

There is a ton of music out there that completely blurs the line in terms of genres, I just wanted to share some of my favorites that make me scream, "PSYCHO!". Hahahahaa!

What I Can't Live Without : Chapstick

I am a chapstick addict. I admit it! My chapstick addiction is not to just chapstick in general, I'm addicted to the Chapstick brand in Classic, not super fruity flavor or whatever craziness they offer, Classic. I have tried many other brands, flavors, etc. I just can't overcome my love of Chapstick Classic (black, so goth!). I know it's one of the worst ones for you and I should switch it up, but my love is so deep I'm thinking of getting a 'holy chapstick' tattoo to commemorate my insanity (and because I think it's hilarious).

Photobucket
<3 <3smoooch<3<3
Of course I can't live without; food, water and air, but chapstick is right up there with what I need! Give me chapstick or give me death....to my lips, I hate when they are dry!

What can't you live without?

Casual Look Of The Day : Stitches

Photobucket

I'm wearing my newest addition to my growing collection of patterned leggings. The Stitch Leggings were purchased from hottopic.com, that's right, HOT TOPIC! Before you blast and condemn me for buying things from this store that seems to drive controversy amongst the goths, punks, etc., I don't care. I shop wherever I like and purchase things that suit my style and taste, besides these are just pretty sweet leggings! At a $22.50 price tag, I was pretty pleased with the price and I like the fit and quality. Though the website does not label the leggings, I was surprised when I saw a Lip Service tag on the inside of the leggings!

Photobucket
Picture Right: Drinking out of my coffin flask while giving the
metal claw
I purchased a size medium in the leggings, and I believe they run pretty true to size according to their size chart. I paired the leggings with an over size button-up top to cover my bum, as we all should know that leggings are not a replacement for pants....cover your ass ladies!

Goths Day At The Beach!

Photobucket
Jason and Derek looking dapper and spooky

We packed up some snacks, drinks, beach towels and LOTS of sunscreen and headed to Beaver Island for goths day at the beach! It's not a national holiday, yet it's just really fun to have a themed outing.....besides, most of us are dark clad types.

Photobucket
Jenny and her lovely parasol
I actually really enjoy warm weather and limited amounts of sun time, yet it was a little too hot in the afternoon sun. We all were praying for some clouds to roll through and when they did we all cheered! I did over hear someone say, "Where did the sun go!", I chuckled to myself.

Photobucket
I'm an ass, photo courtesy of Jenny
The sun came back with a vengeance, so the goths were forced into the water to cool off. We realized the spot we picked in the water was not desirable by others as there were sink holes and slippery spots, we made the best of it! Hahaha!

Photobucket
Notice no one around us!
We all decided to take refuge to the beloved shade and grab some food and relax. Beaver Island is a really nice park with plenty of picnic tables (even though ours was super old and moldy!) and room to spread out. It really was such a lovely day!

Photobucket
Mmmmmm fries!

Photobucket
Thank you for the photo Jenny!

Miss Bethezda, Miss Dani and myself chatting and enjoying the shade! I chuckled when I saw this photo as I never realized how many tattoo's Miss Bethezda and I have, I'm a little slow. Hehe!

Thank to Jenny and Jenn for snapping photos of this lovely day!
