Cameo Shrug

Hello friends! How is everyone doing? This week's weather has been a little weird, rainy and breezy, but I took advantage of the weather and finally remembered to wear this lovely cameo shrug by Banned Apparel. I got this shrug when I was still working at Cats Like Us as we ordered a full size run of this garment, yet only received two. (Ugh!) I snatched one of them up and I'm glad I did as it's not only very pretty, it's very soft and easy to wear. (Shrug's other appearance)

The back pattern is so pretty, there are; cameos, crosses, filigree and bead patterns. I also like that it is trimmed in lace, has stretch and pretty much can be paired with a variety of dresses. tops, etc. Unfortunately I did some snooping and can't find this shrug  for sale anywhere (I think it's too old of a style), but I do love this one:

Wearing; cameo shrug (Banned Apparel), dress (Allentown Dress Shop, Buffalo NY), belt (old, Forever 21), necklace (thrifted), earrings (Blood Flowers Jewelry), winklepickers (thrifted by Julie Ann)

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Thank you for reading, until next time!

I'm With Creepy

This outfit was from early June (and this post has been sitting my draft folder) featuring this "I'm With Creepy" tank top by Sourpuss Clothing. I got the top last Summer and just looked on their website and I appears that they are all sold out. I rediscovered the tank while I was switching over my Winter wardrobe to Summer, and was quite tickled as I forgot about this humorous shirt.

Wearing; tank top (Sourpuss Clothing), skirt (modified from a dress to a skirt), belt (old, Forever 21), cropped cardigan (MAK), spiked creepers (TUK), headband (ebay), spiked earrings (etsy), Sisters of Mercy tile necklace (etsy)

I've really been digging wearing headbands, like the spiked one I am wearing, but the metal bases tend to squeeze my head. I can only get about 2-4 hours of wear before I can't take the head pain any more.

Yet, an accessory that never seems to pain me, are dangle earrings. I bought a few pairs of earrings from Blood Flowers Jewelry on etsy. Kristin's designs are awesome and I'm sooooo happy I bought these coffin earrings (no longer available) and a few other pairs of beautiful dangle earrings. I have my eye on some other pieces in her shop, I think I may have developed an addiction. Hehehehe!

Do you wear headbands? If so, any tips or tricks for me in preventing head pain? Hehehe!

Thank you for reading, until next time!!

Feelin' Crafty

Hello friends! How has everyone been doing? I've been feeling very crafty these past few months. I've been doing everything from my re-foaming settee project to cutting up t-shirts (like the one I'm wearing above) and crafting with bones.

Wearing; Cure t-shirt (given to me by Melanie), skirt (thrifted), shoes (Aerosole), necklace (made by Derek), bracelets (various places)

This piece was made from items we've had around the house. I painted the sacred heart (plastic) plaque in order to make it 'pop' and placed the bones to mimic the rays. I'm really happy with this piece and its already been hung on the wall.

Another piece that I put together, but this one wasn't something that I had planned in my mind. I just sorta 'went with it' and I'm pretty happy with the results. I had a lot of black lace, I had the base hanging around and lots of skulls around, so Voila! *Side note-I hung a broken rosary off the skull and love it even more* Now I'm looking around the house wondering what else I can get my hands on to DIY. Hahahaha!!!

Have a great night, thank you for reading!

Back to Black....and Blonde

Back to the dark side....on my head. Hehehee! My friend and hair wizard, Bryan, worked his hair magic and Voila! I'm not quite back to the mohawk, but the other side of my hair is shaved and bleached to match my already shaved side, and he left a large portion in the middle of my hair blonde.

So, it's nice that I can wear my hair off to the side or tease it up and back to get the two-tone look in the front. I needed a change and this was the ticket! It was quite funny as a lot of my friend's said, "Are you sure?!", when I mentioned black hair. I like extremes and I am very well aware of the time it takes to back to super light.....like 3-4 years. Ha! When you want healthy hair (that grows,) you need to take the time and care for your hair. No regrets!

Happy Tiki Tuesday!

Derek and I have been trying to make a point of enjoying our "Hut" (aka our garage) this summer as with all of last year's home repairs, it left little time to relax and enjoy our little oasis. On Sunday's we have been dressing in our Polynesian-inspired garb, grabbing a drink and grilling some tasty food and just enjoying the day/evening.

I recently got this amazing matching necklace and earring set from Summer Blue Jewelry :)

We will be going to one of our favorite restaurants, Cantina Loco, tonight for their Tiki Tuesday. We haven't been in a while, so we are very much looking forward to some tasty tropical libations and some yummy food. I am also looking forward to choosing a muumuu to wear. Hehehe! In the meantime, here are a few other photos of our tropical grab.....

Celebrating National Mai Tai day, still my favorite cocktail!

Gothic Mrs. Roper chic. LOL!

Muumuu for the last Tiki Tuesday we attended, which was over a month ago and it's time to get our fix!

Thank you for reading, until next time!

Tattoos and Axe Throwing

Well, not at the same time (referring to the title, hahaha!). On Monday Derek finished up my Halloween Dead Mary on the back of my left calf. This tattoo has taken years, due to my stubbornness and lack of desire to finish such an ouchie spot, but I'm soooo glad it's now finished!

I must have been insane as I asked Derek, "Want to do another one?!". We had been talking about adding another tattoo to Derek's 'PUNKin patch' (a few people have punk pumpkins of Derek's designs), but I wanted mine to be more deathrock-esque and thus my PUNKin was added to the side on my left knee (holy crap, I have knee issues and this was no cake walk) and I love her!!!!!

We love goofy tattoo's. We are both covered in them and have a blast coming up with ideas and making them a reality. *Wink*

And for the other part of the title, on Sunday we went over to our friend's house for axe throwing. The guys had done this once before, but I had other plans, so I was excited to be able to participate. We threw other things, but the long handed axe was my favorite and who knew that I'm actually pretty good at throwing!

There was also throwing stars and other knives. I got a bulls eye with Derek's cross shaped throwing knives, which were everyone's favorite to throw as they have multiple pointed sides.....plus they look neat!

Derek is ready!

Having a great Summer so far and have so much more to look forward to!

At The Shop with Bear Knuckle Brawlers

Hello friends! Boy, it's been a while. Today I'm sharing the rest of the awesome package I received from Bear Knuckle Brawlers. Derek and I choose the tattoo shop as a back drop as BKB clothing themes and Ink, Inc. Tattoo Parlor's style, is a great combination. We love; creepy, esoteric and dark, which reflects in the tattoo shop's decor. *Wink*

Derek is wearing the Men's Black Tee-Grin in an XL. Though he really liked the softness of the cotton and LOVES the design, yet the very slim fit made him a bit uncomfortable. He says to size up for larger chests. I'm wearing the Women's Black Rolled Sleeve Tunic T-Shirt-Creep in a large. I choose a larger size as I like to wear my tops a little looser. I've already worn this top a few times and the graphic is perfect after washing!

When I showed Derek and graphic on the Men's Black Crewneck Sweatshirt-Church, he said, "Ohhhh!". Though not normally a sweatshirt person, he exclaimed, "I will wear this one!". I choose the sweatshirt in a XXL and unfortunately Derek doesn't care for the slim fit. Of course, this does not reflect badly on the quality or design, just simply a matter of taste when it comes to fit. I think he looks great, always. Hehehe! <3

If you recall the awesome print on the last Bear Knuckle Brawlers post, the same moon print is on the Women's Black Lightweight Sweatshirt Dress-Moon. This style fits very close to the body and BKB sent me a Medium based on my measurements, so I don't believe wearing this tunic dress oversized would be flattering. I have to admit wearing long line fitted garments makes me a little uncomfortable, yet when I paired this dress with jeggings, it eased my body insecurities. (Our brains are so stupid!!!!) Super comfortable and a lot lighter in weight than the longline hoodie styles.

Outtakes!

Thank you to Bear Knuckle Brawlers for sending us both some awesome casual clothing! They offer a 15% discount off your first order, use code FIRST15.

Thank you for reading, until next time!!!!

A little update on what I've been up to: between basically working three jobs, I've been dealing with chronic digestive issues. Ever since going gluten-free last year, I've had some relief, but I'm still on a slow journey to find out what combination of diet and natural digestive support in order to stop the constant yo-yo weight gain/loss and to just feel "normal". So, you could imagine that I haven't really been feeling my best for a fashion blog. Yes, this is vain and I try not to focus too much on weight and body image, but I have to admit it's a gnawing subject in the back of my mind. As a person who grew up with a Mother who has severe Crohn's Disease and saw her suffer (yet, is one of the strongest people I know) and almost die, I know that vanity is trivial. It's all perspective and staying positive can help me find some answers. <3
