Happy Halloween Hunting

As mentioned in my previous blog post, Derek and I went Halloween hunting on Sunday. It was an unseasonably warm day, but I still managed to wear a few layers. I'm jonesing for jackets, long layers and cozy sweaters, but I'm mostly wishing for an *actual* Autumn and not a 'it's 80 degrees one day and snowing the next' Buffalo weather.

Weather aside, we had a nice day that included going to stores like; Joann Fabric, Dollar Tree, The Spirit Store and Pier 1. We picked up a few things that included some velvet ribbon for a dress I ordered from Restyle.pl that I (now) have to alter. Let's just say their sizing chart is WRONG and I'm not happy, but that's possibly for another blog post......

I was hoping to get more Halloween-inspired household goods, like dish towels and spider web doilies, but alas I haven't found too much that has impressed me. We did come home with some items for our costumes, home decor and Halloween knick knacks. There is still time to do more Halloween hunting, but soon it will be time to put out the decorations and eat some candy corn on October 1st!

Red Velvet Dress

Last night we went out! It's amazing! Perfect excuse to take a trip back to the 90s and wear my new red velvet bell sleeve dress. Yeah, I used to wear velvet babydoll dresses all the time in high school/into my early 20s, so now I've completed the circle! Haha!

Throw on a bunch of necklaces, black lipstick and boots and I was good to go! I have to mention that after all these years, I finally got the little red dress that I have been looking for and bonus points that it's crushed velvet!

Derek and I will be spending the day going through our Halloween boxes in the basement and going out hunting for more Halloween goodies! It's hard to resist all the Halloween candy and treats we encounter!

Happy Autumnal Equinox!

Or Happy Vernal Equinox to some of you! I am looking forward to cooler temperature's and decorating our home for Halloween! We've been buying decorations here and there and I've been adding a few pieces to the closet since it's the best time to buy......for all year round attire.

So, tonight I'm enjoying a few glasses of wine and reflecting on the year so far and all that lies ahead.

Dr. D's Tattoo Undertakings

Dr. D is my husband Derek's nickname. Though he's not a doctor in real life, it is pretty rad that his client's will say things like, "I've got to go see the doctor"...when they are referring to their tattoo appointment's.

Derek's artwork never ceases to amaze me. Whether it's his drawings on a t-shirt or inked into skin, he is one talented man! Yes, a wife is allowed to gush over her husband (on her blog) every once in a while. Hehehe!

Party!

Last night we went to our friend Kyle's place for his birthday party/apartment warming party.....and it was sure "warmed" by all the beer and other various alcoholic drinks being thrown around and consumed. Hahahaha! Sounds barbaric, but punks just wanna fun (and also dance to Judas Priest).

(color settings were off, but eh.)

It was rainy and cold, BUT I am excited, because I can start wearing my Docs, jackets and various layers of clothing. Summer is great, but I love the Autumn.

As a side note. I love my Alchemy Gothic mini coffin bag (pictured in the photo) and I've been on the hunt for a coffin bag that is the same style, but larger. I want the zippers on the side, not the top and no backpack or hand held bag styles. I've seen the Demonia, Kreepsville 666 and other gothic lolita brands and I don't like any of those. Does what I am looking for even exist?

Anyways, I had a great time at the party and today will be bit of a blur. Even though I went to bed at 5am, it's hard for me to not wake up early and drag myself around. Hehehee!

Old Hair Is New Again

Back to my old self again with a fresh side cut. I tried the bob, I tired of having all the hair I had and went back to where I felt most like myself. It's nothing entirely new, yet I feel refreshed.

I did opt to keep a lot of length in order to try a little something different instead of having such an extreme change. I did give my hair stylist friend Bryan photos of my own hair from last year and he modified the cut for me. I'm happy, I love having parts of my hair shaved!
