Yesterday was still on the cooler side, which made me a happy gal since we were going to see Billy Idol!
I'm wearing my dagger leggings by Lip Service, cotton elastic waist shirt (thrift $2.50), black cotton boat neck top (thrift $1), cone studded belt by me, cowboy boots, 'porkpie' hat from Forever 21, and my new scarab beetle necklace that I got from our trip to Pittsburgh. My new necklace makes me so happy as it's a nice souvenir from a fun trip with new friends.
My hint of red is my lip gloss and my ring finger is painted red. Hehe!
We had a good time at Billy Idol despite the crowd, I have to admit the older I get the more I get uncomfortable and panicky in large outdoor standing-only crowds. People get drunk, rude and pushy, we couldn't even get anywhere near the stage because of the sea of people with their lawn chairs. Oh well, we just watched the big screen and sang and danced along. Derek and I were excited because he played some Generation X songs, like opening the set with "Ready, Set, Go", he also played his solo favorite of mine, "Flesh for Fantasy", which (though cheesy) I love. Billy's voice is great and he's still sexy as hell. Me-OW!
He's "rebel yell"-ing here.
Oh Billy, I love you too.
I've already seen some awesome shows this year and I'm still in awe at the fact that it's June already! Wow, my Mama was right, time fly's when you're having fun!
Thank you for reading and Happy Red & Black Week!
XOXO-Meagan Kyla
Beautiful photos =)
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I love your hat =)
Thank you dear! My hat loves you ;)
DeleteWow - Billy is still rocking on? I had no idea.
ReplyDeleteYes he is, looking and sounding great!
DeleteI'd love to hear "white weddings" live O3O. And lawn chairs??? I guess it's not your age. It's the people... They are so aggressive and have no culture now. I feel like going to a battle every time we leave home and go for a walk in oldtown on weekend :((
ReplyDeleteI'm in my 30s and my 'punk' days of being up front and battling the mobs of people to get to the stage are long gone. Hehehhee!
DeleteI love your necklace! Scarab beetles make for lovely jewellery. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you and I agree!
DeleteThe spouse will be so jealous - Billy Idol is one of his favourites! I agree with you, I get a little panicky these days in large crowds, especially when there's a lot of alcohol and drugs involved. Sigh, I'm getting old ... :P
ReplyDeleteThe new necklace is awesome, and I love that hat. Was that a purchase from long ago, or do you think a person might still be able to find one of those?
Thank you! It really was a great show ;)
DeleteThe hat was bought a few months ago from forever21.com and it quickly sold out. :(
Love the hat and scarab necklace :)
ReplyDeleteThank you love!
DeleteI think that was the indication that I was "officially" old. When I no longer enjoyed outdoor concerts. Indoor is fine, but outdoor is too much. Love the necklace!
ReplyDeleteSame here, I just had to grit my teeth and stand there, trying not to run away screaming. Heheheheee!
DeleteThank you, the necklace is a well loved addition to the collection :)
wow that necklace is sooo cool
ReplyDeleteThank you doll!
DeleteLol! It's all about the details. ;) I hate large crowds at shows these days, too. Mr. Kitty and I go all the way to San Diego to catch our favorites (Peter Murphy and VNV Nation) because shoes in Los Angeles are just insane. Both Peter and VNV always play small venues in SD - much more my speed!
ReplyDeleteStill, if it's a must-see, it's worth tolerating the crowd! Sounds like this was a great show, and at least they had the big screen.
For some reason I've been painting my ring finger different colors (in addition to black), I just like the way it looks. Hahaha!
DeleteSmall venues and/or paying for a seat=my M.O. I think that's why I don't even bother with festivals any more, unless (like you said) it's someone I REALLY want to see!
Oooh, my eye was instantly drawn to the scarab necklace! I want one so bad!
ReplyDeleteLawn chairs? I thought it was standing only? Were they for the old people or something?
Last two concerts I went to were standing and we hung out at this half step near the back of the hall that allowed short people just enough height to see the stage. It was that or get crushed at the front and probably see nothing.
I forgot at this particular outdoor venue, a lot of the locals come and bring their lawn chairs. It's annoying and takes up a lot of room.
DeleteI would be with you, standing back=no crushed for me!
I love those leggings! You look excellent.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! My husband teases me (playfully) calls me Axl Rose as he wore them in GnR in the 80s. I'm okay with that! Hahahaha!
DeleteI took my mum to see Billy Idol here in Canada the other night and he was pretty great! Flesh for Fantasy is one of my cheesy favourites too and he was so sexy, especially during that song! Did his lead guitarist do a lot of solo stuff at your show too? He was awesome (and wearing these fantastic b&w striped bellbottoms on his cute butt) but I wanted to see more BILLY!
ReplyDeleteYou always look so fantastic, even you are dressed casually!
The guitarist did do a lot of solo stuff and though he's super talented, I was a little off-put by it as I wanted to see MORE Billy too! I think that is so amazing you took your mum to the show!!!!!
DeleteThank you doll, you are very kind ;)
I went to a concert of his a few years ago and YEAH he still looks great!! I agree with you on the getting older/standing room types of concerts. When I was a teenager, I used to get in the "mosh pit" and crowd surf and I got kicked in the head and trampled and such and it didn't bother me.....now that I'm old I can't handle that sh*t anymore lol!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Amen sister!
DeleteI really like your outfit :3 I also think that that necklace is absolutely wonderful ^^
