I love The Cure and I know I join the millions of fans who swoon over Robert Smiths vocals and Simon Gallup's bass guitar drones. The Cure are legends in their own right and are indeed my all-time favorite band.
This Cure t-shirt is the only one I own that I would wear in public, all the others are bedtime t-shirts that have been loved to (almost) death and/or are too oversize for day-to-day wear. When I do wear a band t-shirt, I prefer them to be more in a simple design with the bands name/logo being the focus and the shirt being fitted, but not skin tight.
Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, one of my favorite albums, next to Pornography and Seventeen Seconds. I love Disintegration, but it reminds me of a bad time in my life....so we don't listen to that one in its entirety.
I paired the t-shirt with a skirt I made from a dress, an elastic waist belt, my red creepers, and I'm rockin' my newest Dungaree Dolly bag. It's her mini messenger style bag which is so easy to carry for hands-free shopping, adventures, etc. Check out the amazing atomic print I got it in!
I loved the pattern so much, I got a matching Rosie Scarf!
The Cure and Dolly Bags, what a great day! Hehehehe!
Are you a Cure fan?
XOXO-Meagan Kyla
Very cute! I love the shoes with the outfit ^_^
ReplyDeletep.s. I tagged you in a blog challenge :D
Thank you =D
DeleteI used to be a huge Cure fan ...saw them play twice some time ago ...and even met them personnally at Brussels airport : I shook hands with Robert Smith !!
ReplyDeletenowadays , I listen to their music occasionnally ...too many memories , you see ? but stiil love " Charlotte sometimes " , one of my favourites :)
You met Robert Smith /faints. "Charlotte Sometimes" is my most favorite Cure song :)
Deleteby the way : nice handbag !
ReplyDeleteAaahhh! You look so cute! I love seeing less common band tees, like this one - as much as I love the more famous ones (such as the unknown pleasures cover), they do get a bit overused.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have seen that poor Joy Division t-shirt all over the place, but it's still pretty rad in my book ;)
DeleteI always find it hard to incorporate band tees into my outfits because they always fit me terribly! You have done a very nice job of the band shirt look here, I love that you paired it with a skirt.
ReplyDeleteI have a few albums that I can't listen to anymore as well because they remind me of a bad time. It's funny how the brain can make such powerful associations with music.
Thank you! I've also tried to incorporate band t-shirts in my outfits other than just t-shirt and jeans. I like the "tucked in" higher waist look on me and thus I can get more use out of my tees!
DeleteI agree, music really is a powerful outlet full of emotion and memories.....
I'm definitely a Cure fan! If I ever met Robert Smith I don't think I'd be able to speak, I'd probably just faint haha. That bag is so awesome! I love love love that print and the colours!!
ReplyDeleteAs always you are dressed so wonderfully =D
I'd be fainting right there with you! *swoon*
DeleteAww shucks, thank you dollface! Means a lot <3
I love the skirt/creepers combo!
ReplyDeleteI recently got to hang out with an old friend of my husband's. He sang songs by both the Cure and Joy Division (two bands associated with my happiest thoughts) while dancing the Carleton. The effect was rather jarring. :-/
Thank you!
DeleteOh man, I would be balling my eyes out!
I love The Cure, but I kind of feel like they're starting to sound like a caricature of themselves. Of course, I think that probably happens to every creative unit at some point. >coughcoughTimBurton<
ReplyDeleteI can see that, but they all look like cartoon characters anyway ;)
DeleteMy goal in life is to become more cartoonlike every year, until I eventually become a local legend.
DeleteI like this goal!
