Outfits I've Been Rockin'

Hello friends! Just a few outfits I've been wearing over the last week and a half. I've been cold, so layering has been the number one theme in my mind. We've been having a weird weather with up's and down's in the temperature and I'm convinced that's why everyone around has been ill. I've had the sniffles for a month. UGH!

Anywho, I'm wearing some favorite basics like a button up collared shirt, drapey cardigan and my favorite 80s skirt. I love silver accessories as they really 'pop' against black, as well as boots with buckles. I can't get enough of the Western style double buckle belt, I have to tell myself that I doesn't need to be worn with every outfit. *Wink*

Hard to see, but I'm wearing gray tights. Ohhhh, so daring. (sarcasm) I know, I know. Once again silver accessories against black and this time I little gray thrown into the mix. I love shirt dresses, because I can wear a few layers underneath without creating bulk.  I also have to give my oversized 80s sweater a big shout out, as it's massive sleeves help to hide any lumps on my arms (the dress has buttons on the 3/4 length sleeves) that would be obvious with a more fitted sweater. One of the best thrift finds EVER!

My hair was acting so stupid on Wednesday and it was crazy windy out, so I threw it back into a messy ponytail and hairsprayed and teased until I felt I looked like a crazed 80s secretary. I also decided to wear some light blue eyeshadow to fit in with the look. Side note- I always have mixed emotions about wearing blue eyeshadow as it reminds me of my dancer days when my Mom would pile on the blue shadow for dance recitals...and the cream blush. AHHHH!!!

Everything is vintage/second hand except the gray & black draped open front sweater, belt and boots. There was so much static going on. So much. Maybe that's why my hair stayed up all day, the static electricity helped. Hahaha!!!

Thank you for reading, until next time!!

A Bat Bow, a Witch and Two Outfits

Hello friends! You've already seen this sweater a few weeks ago, but it's too cute to not want to style and wear it a variety of ways. I generally don't gravitate towards pullover style sweaters, yet I seemed to have acquired a few over this past year.

The bat headband was an impulse buy while ordering some pants from H&M. I could have made the headband myself and I wish I had, as the headband squeezes my will to live.....and my head. I'm hoping I slip off the bow and put it on a headband that is more comfortable.

The bow is still super fun to wear!

Wearing; sweater (Too Fast Clothing), Peter Pan collar shirt (Vintage Galeria), bat bow headband (H&M), pants (H&M), winklepicker shoes (thrifted)

Say hello to our newest blow mold addition, Miss Witchy Poo! I was so excited when the owner of the antique store across from work was kind enough to sell me his precious vintage witch. We collect blow molds (especially Halloween ones) and I've only seen this particular witch online and one or two house's lawns during the Halloween season. Side note-Derek and I like to play spot the blow mold. Hehe! We are both excited to have her and to be able to enjoy her for many years to come. :)

And the outfit, Though I wouldn't use the fashion term, "witchy", to describe my ensemble, yet it was certainly comfy! I dug out my little mini fedora hat in order to tame my mane, which I plopped on my head as a last minute outfit accessory. We were leaving the house to do some thrift shopping and I like to have my hair out of my face, so it dawned on me that I had been neglecting my hats.

Wearing; little fedora (old, TJ Maxx), oversize button down shirt (old, Forever 21), long sweater and black crushed velvet leggings (H&M), burgundy boots (6pm.com), bat necklace (old, eBay), bone necklace (Purgatory Plaything), pewter bone hoops (Martha Rotten).

I can't believe Halloween is only 6 days away. Crazy! We went to one Halloween party on Sunday and have costumes planned for a party on Halloween day, but I'm realizing I should dress up for the two parties we have this coming weekend. Time to dive into the costume boxes!

Are you going to any Halloween parties?

Thank you for reading, until next time!

It's Sweater Weather!

I am happy that I get to dive into my sweater collection, we've been having the weirdest Autumn so far and from day-to-day I have to double and triple check the weather channel in order plan on how I should dress. Last week we had a very rainy and cold days, which made me happy since I could wear my leather jacket. Hehe!

Wearing; sweater (old style, Sourpuss Clothing), dress (TOBI clothing), leggings (Carousel Ink), boots (6pm.com) earrings and necklace (thrifted)

The dress was the last one featured in my blog post about TOBI clothing and it's proving to be a wonderful dress for layering. They still have the dress on their website and it still gets two thumbs up from me!

When we got this cardigan in at work (last year), I thought that I didn't need it, but then I realized I was crazy. Of course I need a sweater with coffins on it, it's part of the name of my blog, I have many coffins tattooed on me (including my chest) and I LOVE coffins.

Wearing; coffin sweater (Hell Bunny), stripe top (thrifted), skirt (eshakti), boots (6pm.com), spider necklace (Pier 1), coffin bead earrings (Sourpuss Clothing), and eyeball fascinator (hat=made by me, eyeball=made by Derek).

Speaking of coffins, I was very happy to now to wearing my Mordaunte's coffin gem ring that was a 5 year anniversary gift from Derek. I hate to say that it sat in the box for 2 years before I realized that it does fit my right ring finger. When Derek first gave it to me, we thought it was too small and need sizing, well I finally took it to a jeweler to only realize that we were wrong and I've been now happily wearing it everyday! Shout out to Sharon (Goth Gardening) for inspiring me to finally take my ring to a jeweler after seeing her amazing Instagram post about her Mordaunte ring along with another gorgeous cameo ring. Thank you dear!!!

Creepy Cute Sweaters by Too Fast

Very excited that I can wear my new sweaters from Too Fast clothing (not a sponsored post) like the Moon Bats Cult Sweater I got from my Halloween Haul at work. Moons and bats and stars, oh my!

This sweater is a bit longer, roomier and oh-so-soft! I paired the sweater with leggings, a little stretch skirt and my Dr. Marten boots. Basically a simple outfit that is combo I will often be seen in cooler months. I am ready! So very ready!

No matter what I try to always wear some accessories!

The other sweater is the Eerie Cemetery cardigan that I had been lusting after since I had seen it in Too Fast's catalog. Though we didn't order it for work, I knew that it had to be mine! I dragged my heels and didn't order the sweater from their website (it sold out), so I tracked the sweater down and got it from an ebay store. Though I am happy I purchased the sweater, the sleeves are way too short for me and quality is not as nice as the other Too Fast sweaters we sold at work.

BUT, I have already worn the cardigan more than 5 times as it pairs with basically everything in my wardrobe. (Like my Lucy Fur leggings) and it washed up very nicely! I may purchase a second one in a larger size and see if that helps with the sleeve length, but knowing me I'll just wear it with a long sleeve t-shirt and call it a day.

I hope you've been enjoying the Halloween wares I've been sharing, I've been prepping for these purchases since I've seen the catalogs last year!

Yay! It's October 1st

Ohhh goodie goodie, it's October 1st! Halloween season is officially here! Tricks, treats and a whole month of not getting asked, "Is that a Halloween ____(fill in the blank)____ that you are wearing? Hehe! Not that I mind, but it sure will be nice.

This was Thursday's work outfit including the Bletchley dress that I had previous chatted about the subpar fit, yet I can't help but love the stripes! I really love shirt dress styles as I can layer a sweater over them or wear a long sleeve t-shirt under them for added warmth in the cold, cold months. Plus, I just find them comfortable, love collared anything and I really like buttons on my clothing. Hahaha!

Wearing; bletchley striped dress (Lindy Bop), cardigan (Hell Bunny---I own a lot of this brand=we sell it at my job), belt I always wear, boots (6pm.com), beaded necklace (thrift), earrings, (gift from Derek), hair bow (Cats Like Us), lipstick=Ravishin' Raisin by Wet n' Wild (ps-their matte lipsticks are my favorite drugstore lip stuff)

Yeah, you get two outfits in this post *I can feel your excitement jumping out from the screen*, because....why not?! Haha! Any who, the Lucy Fur Vintage Cat Sweater has been part of my 'Halloween Hunt' from work and though we are very low on sizes, we will be getting a restock in a few weeks. (PS-sign up for the newsletter to get info on the restock and you get a discount!) I can not say enough nice things about this sweater. It's soft, it's cozy, it's not too heavy and not too light, purrrrfect. Aaaaaand it has a vintage Halloween cat on it.

Side note: Did you ever get made fun of for wearing your pants too short? Well I will never do that since I like to wear ankle length pants to show off my socks, especially orange and black ones that compliment my Halloween cat sweater. So naaaaaah, to all the grade school bullies, they were just jealous of future you looking so stylish.

Wearing; Lucy Fur Vintage Cat Sweater (Sourpuss Clothing via Cats Like Us), collared shirt (thrifted), trousers (H&M), creepers (TUK), bone hoop earrings (Martha Rotten), hair bow (Cats Like Us), bat necklace (ebay?), jack o lantern bracelet (Walgreens)

Stay spooky my friends, until we meet again.

Muahahaha *cough cough*

A Few Days with Fancy Hair

Hello friends! The last few days have been filled with friends, getting my hair done and having fancy hair from a photoshoot I did with Jennifer Link Kieffer for Auxiliary Magazine. My friend hair trimmed and colored my hair on Friday and my hair was done by my friend Lauren-Ashley for the photoshoot.

The photoshoot was very early on Sunday morning, so after coming home to change and wash off the dramatic photoshoot makeup, I was determined to take my hair out for lunch. Oh yeah, Derek came too! Hahaha!

I slipped on my favorite sleeveless lace top, an eShakti skirt that has become a summer favorite, black flats and my bat parasol from Sourpuss Clothing. We then headed down to the Elmwood Strip (which I've been haunting that part of town since I was a teenager) and munched on lovely Mediterranean food while on the restaurants upper patio. We chatted about how much Buffalo has changed over the years and how cool it is to see the city thriving. Sigh, I love summer's in Buffalo.

On Monday I still took advantage of my locks lookin' lovely and dressed for a very warm day that was going to included running errands and thrift shopping. I paired my favorite skirt (thrifted) with a basic tank top, black comfy flats and a fringed skull and floral Kimono that was given me by my friend Leslie.

I realize that my love of Kimono's doesn't get included in the blog too often. I have several that I like to thrown on when I'm going to out in the sun. The kimono sheds my shoulders and helps keep me warm when I'm going in and out of air conditioned buildings. I also can't lie that I love how dramatic they look when they are blowing in the wind. Hehe!

Shout out to this skirt for having the best pockets ever! I can put my cell phone, measuring tape (handy to have while thrifting) and my lip balm in them without looking overly bulky. Bonus!

I have to mention that it was a good thrifting day. Derek is always my good luck charm and it's great to have a second set of eyes helping to look for vintage treasures. I picked up a red card table for next-to-nothing and a few clothing items and I was smiling from ear to ear.

How was your weekend?

Some Weekly Work Outfits

Hello friends! Just some outfits I've worn to work this week. Trying to dress for weather that has been Spring-like, but still has a chilly breeze that has been chilling me to the bone!

I purchased the handmade felt Star Trek Next Generation Combadge pin from a local artisan Lumpy Buttons. Check out her etsy shop here. The pin reminds me of watching the show with my Father, so it makes me smile. (Psssst-I love Jean-Luc Picard and The Borg)

Wearing; sweater and lace t-shirt (H&M), red atomic space skirt (Steady Clothing), lace tights (Leg Avenue), comfy Mary Janes (T.J. Maxx) combadge (Lumpy Buttons)

Yeah, I wear a lot of black and white. I've gotten over it. I like what I like and I won't be stopping any time soon. Hahaha!!!

I finally got a chance to incorporate this layered chain necklace into an outfit. I purchased the necklace from Romwe.com several months ago. I usually don't order from websites like Romwe, but I really wanted this sweatshirt and took the risk in ordering. I didn't have any issues, didn't take a long time to get to me, yet I don't think ordering from Asian fashion websites is for me.

Wearing; shirtdress (eShakti), vest with patches sewn on my me (Sourpuss Clothing), belt (thrift), necklace (Romwe.com), pewter bone hoop earrings (Martha Rotten), boots (Dr. Martens via ebay)

I also wanted to take a quick moment and say thank you for all your support, comments and conversations we have on this blog. I really don't feel very supported at times (though Derek is my rock!), especially with all that I have done on previous or on-going projects. Sorta been feeling a little defeated lately, so even though this is just a 'silly little blog', it is important to me and so are all of you.

Thank you for reading, until next time!

Casual Fridays

Hello friends! How is everyone feelin' today?! I have to admit, I love casual Fridays. Though it's not really 'a thing' at the boutique (since we can basically wear whatever we like), it's nice to be able to be able to wear outfits that are easy and comfortable to wear.

Wearing; bow cardigan (old, Forever 21), pants (old, Forever 21), creepers, (super old, TUK Shoes), flamingo necklace (gift from Terri), flamingo bow (gift from Natalie of Gothy Two Shoes)

While at work, our friend Andrea pointed out my hair was 'not as teased' as normal. Hehehe! Yeah, gotta give the hair a break here and there.

Wearing; chiffon shift dress (from clothing swap), drapey cardigan (H&M), leggings (old, Forever 21), boots (6pm.com), necklace (Lemantula Designs).

I have off today! It's crazy as I don't know what to do with myself, hahaha! I know I get a chance to wear very lounge-y clothing as last night I had my nun tattoo completed on my right thigh. The spot is tender (always worth it), but I'm very excited to have this piece added to my leg collection!!!

What are you up to today?

Throwback Thursday : Club Edition

Danielle and I at the (now defunct) Continental in very early 2000's. That bondage dress I'm wearing was amazing and I wish I had held onto it!

2015 Black & White

I was reviewing my pinterest boards and there was one blaringly obvious theme of 2015, black and white. Though it's not entirely a surprise to me as I love black and white as a clothing combo and gravitate towards black and white graphics, patterns and designs.

It's pretty cool to put photos in groupings and review what outfits I wore throughout the year. I really enjoy seeing my blogger friends do a year in review, so I thought I would join in the fun!

What was your favorite clothing combo in 2015?

It Was A Nice Day

Holy crap, it was in the 60's yesterday! Talk about unseasonably warm weather......but I'm loving it!

Hahaha!!!

Derek and I took advantage of the warm weather and went to a few antique malls east of Buffalo. We came home with more Christmas kitsch and some Hawaiian items. I found a muumuu for $8, I am pretty excited!

It was so warm that both of us took off our leather jackets at some point and I quickly realized I did not need that scarf around my neck. Dressing for this weather has been a bit of a mind f*ck.

Yet, we are not missing shoveling and having a pile of snow in the back yard that's taller than Derek. Nope, not at all. I also don't care if we have a white Christmas, last winter traumatized me and I've basically lived in Buffalo my whole life. In other words, I hate snow.

I don't hate wearing jackets and it being a little bit colder than it has been with this freak weather, but I'm not going to complain. I'm just going with it....as I have no choice. LOL!
