This is CorpGoth's Mid-Status Report fell on the perfect day, Shoes! OMG! Thursday. This month's Mid-Status Report theme is shoes that you would wear to work and since I work at Cats Like Us and I work from home (sewing, thrifting, etc.), I have two different styles of shoes I usually wear. The main theme with the shoes I choose is comfort. I like to wear creepers while slinging dresses as they are comfortable and I can wear them with a variety of outfits, and I like to wear my little leather sneakers when I'm out thrifting and scouring antique markets and shops. While most shoes I pick out are comfortable, adding a little extra 'bounce' in my step with gel insoles make for happy feet!
What type of shoes do you wear to work?
Thank you for reading!

Oh yes, gel insoles! I put them in EVERY pair of shoes :)
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, YES!!!!
DeleteI also use creepers and TUK shoes for work. I have to walk a lot in my job so comfort is essential :)
ReplyDeleteI've definitely learned the hard way from walking/standing in awesomely ouchie shoes. *shutters*
DeleteGel insoles are little pieces of Heaven for your feet
ReplyDeleteI agree, like little gel clouds =D
DeleteI wear all sorts of shoes to work (heels, platforms, boots, flats, creepers), but I have a desk job, so I can regulate how much I'm actually on my feet during the day. If the shoes I want to wear are difficult to drive in or tend to make my feet tired/sore later in the day, I pop them into my "carrying things to work" bag and wear a pair of comfy flats or creepers to and from work.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome to have the shoes freedom and it's smart about bigger shoes to change into!
DeleteI don't work now, but when I did, I pretty much stuck to my old school Adidas. http://www.adidas.com/us/product/mens-originals-adistar-racer-shoes/DA392AA?cid=V22769&breadcrumb=u2Z1z13ybjZ1z13071
ReplyDeleteIn the winter I wore my trusty old Docs, which I've had since freshman year of high school, making them 20 years old. They are still as spiffy as the day I bought them, plus or minus a few scuffs, of course. ;)
Docs are great, they really just are!
DeleteOh my goth, those red creepers look amazing! I see You love those shoes and I have plans to finally buy them - could You please tell me the pros and cons (I heard the soles quickly break - is that true?)
ReplyDeleteDaily I wear classic Dr Martens shoes in purple shade <3 And I wouldn't change them for anything else! :)))
I think it all depends on hard you are on your shoes, it is a risk with creepers for the sole to come off or for them to completely split. I've had some for years=no worries, my husband has had issues because they are his everyday shoes and eventually they broke down. He's taken the ones that have separated from the sole to a cobbler and they fixed them right up.
DeleteTUK=two big thumbs up from our creeper loving family!
Yes to the insoles! I usually use the ones just for the ball of the foot, but if I have an uncomfortable pair (or ones I wear just about daily) I'll use the full gel insole.
ReplyDeleteLove the black sneakers - those are so much more classy than typical gym shoes that too many people have made their daily wear...
Those sneakers were found on a whim, we went into Payless while waiting for a friend to get to a restaurant near by, so glad I looked as they are leather and comfortable! I agree, they are more classy and I can wear them with a little sun dress or capri's while on vacation and look cute while enjoying adventures!
