Hello friends! What's shakin'? My week was filled with work at the store as my bosses went on a much needed vacation and I was left in charge. Muahaha! Actually, it's not that exciting as I just bossed myself around and made sure I didn't goof off...too much. I kept my outfits pretty simple and comfy since I didn't have much time to think about myself when I wanted to make sure I got everything done for the store.
Wearing; yellow leopard sweater (Sourpuss Clothing), old skater dress (thrift?), leggings (Target), my favorite black flats (by Aerosoles), sunglasses (AJ Morgan), necklace (??), Batcave pin (eBay), coffin dangle earrings (Sourpuss Clothing)
I keep mentioning material, because rayon, unflattering stretch jersey and other varies of blended materials that show everything and I'm clueless as to what sort of underwear (or perhaps lack of) I'm supposed to wear. It's summer, it's hot, I don't want to be concerned about my under garments, I don't like going out of the house braless!!!! This is why my summer wardrobe is boring, unless I find something new at a thrift store or via etsy, I just wear my few pieces until they are worn out! Sigh....
I don't find it hard to be a goth in the summer, I find it hard to find clothing I like and that inspires me and not be buried under lots of layers (which is very much a part of my style) or that makes me uncomfortable. Is this all too much to ask? Am I living in a fantasy world? I guess I'm sticking to my usual strategy of wearing lots of accessories and fun flats. Hahaha!!!
Where do you shop for summer clothing? Any advice for me?
Thank you for reading, until next time!

Regular stores leave me gold! Like you say all cut outs and club wear. Which people can wear if they are like but it's not me! My online go tos are Sakkas and Holy Clothing. They do have some black or dark coloured items but are more hippie. Still you might find something there, their stuff is rayon which breathes well.
ReplyDeleteI will check out those stores! Thank you!
DeleteYeah, that's what I've noticed too. Esp with the sheer fabric. I just wear a bra that matches my skin tone and call it a day. honestly that's the only bra color I'm buying from now on, unless it's one of those cool strappy bras. I see people wear a "modesty" tank underneath, and I'm like, just wear the tank top then.
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent idea! I have a nude bra would work with some of the dresses Inge been eyeing!
Delete*I've been eyeing
DeleteI end up just wearing tanks and sundresses and lots of cotton skirts for summer!
ReplyDeleteYes, I tend to do the same!
DeleteI make a lot of my summer clothing, but I'm actually having a similar problem to you since I'm in cosmetology school and we have to wear all black. I will admit, I've found some cute things in Wal Mart (of all places?) but the fabrics are often strange... like flammable kid's PJ-type jersey that feels like plastic. May the Thrift Odds be Ever In Your Favor!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI REALLY REALLY HATE summer clothing!!! Many things that are available in the summer just do NOT work for my body type such as shorts and strapless and/or weirdly strappy shirts (I agree, I do no want to go braless, scratch that, I CANNOT go braless!!) I am very heat sensitive so I always go nuts all summer because anything that looks decent on me is too hot. The main things I end up wearing are maxi skirts and maxi dresses, mostly in black. I try to make them more "summer-y" by cracking out some colourful accessories.
ReplyDeleteI don't do well in the sun at ALL...ugh.
DeleteAdvice for summer? Stick to black light clothing, spaghetti straps and when everything else fails suck it up hahaha I live in the caribbean here is summer most of the time (april-nov) Sucks!!! Cute outfit btw and I have that same bat necklace I love how it is so simple that can go with anything and look cute. <3
ReplyDeleteWhere I live it's mostly Winter, lol! So, I have about 2 months of 'hot' weather.
DeleteThank you for the advice ;)
Very fun outfit - that Batcave pin is a great find!

I haven't really been looking at summer clothes at the big shops so I have no idea what's going. It does sound all so strange though! I hope you stay cool this summer! Love your outfit too! AJ Morgan is one of my favorites for sunglasses! :D
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're still blogging! You look fantastic, as always!
I have one fun suggestion to breathe some new life into your summer wardrobe - revamping old t-shirts into halters, interesting tops, even skirts! T-shirt material is so comfy on hot sticky days and I have a feeling you can find a few gothic gems around your house to sew into something new!
