Feelin' Good

Monday we got the plumbing situation resolved, my sinuses and feeling much better and my red neck is not-so-red. Yay! I was also able to snap some photos outside OUR house and I have to say it feels pretty darn good.

I have to give a shout out to Jawbreaker Clothing as these British Catacombs Leggings are some of the most comfortable leggings I've ever worn, and I wear a lot of leggings. When I first slipped them on, I let out an audible "Ahhhhh", as in 'Ahhh these are so comfy'.

It's nice to incorporate my jackets into outfit posts as I'm a jacket fiend. When Derek gifted me with this Straight to Hell leather, I cried. I know he video taped my reaction as he knew I would freak out, but I don't think he realized I would cry tears of joy. Dorksville Daddy-o. Four years of lusting after this leather and now it's mine as Derek got it for an incredible deal. See, even my husband is a bargain hunter, so that's why we make a great team. *Wink*

We're Starting to Smell Over Here

Okay, I'm being a tad dramatic, but I did do a "runway" walk of filth in my weekend clothes. Hehehe!

Sunday was filled with purchasing a bamboo Tiki bar (we decided to use it as a base, since it was more cost effective...bamboo is $$$), picking up some faux palm trees from a Craigslist seller and doing a lot of cleaning. We unboxed some of our Tiki collection that has been in boxes for months and it made us very happy. We celebrated with our first official Mai Tai in the 'Tiki hut', made dinner and watched Game of Thrones.

How was your weekend?

A Red Neck, Sewer Problems and Sinuses

Weird title, I know, but this is everything that has been going on this week. To start I rubbed a sample of neck cream all over and now I have an irritated neck and chest area. The little voice of reason said, "Don't do it! Remember the chemical burn you got from the sample of Oxy Pads?!" I was a teenager then and thought my adult skin was tougher than that. Wrong. My neck/chest is fine enough, I'll just keep moisturizing it and I'll just ignore the little lines that are developing.

These faux knee high stockings are so RAD!

We've also been dealing with major sewer issues. In short, our 'poop hole' as we've been affectionately calling the drain in the basement, likes to say "HELLO!" too much. I know, TMI, but this thing happens to houses and we're getting it taken care of, but it is still upsetting and annoying. Basically I just want to have a shower, do laundry and flush the toilet without it being a major event.

This is my 'I'm over it' face.

And allergies. And sinuses. I have terrible sinus issues and it came on strong and fast on Tuesday. Luckily it's not terrible sinusitis, just mild.

Flash!

Kitsch Picks : Twelve Buckle Winklepicker Boots

Let me wipe the drool off my face while I'm admiring these Gothic 12 Buckle Winklepicker Boots by The Gothic Shoe Co. So many buckles, so pointy, so leathery. Is leathery a word? Probably not. Hehe!

Hello lovelies. Would you like to come live with me?

Repeats

I'm a fashion blogger who gets frustrated shopping (for myself) and doesn't get excited about fast fashion. I know, it makes no sense. I don't have an unlimited budget and I don't have a giant wardrobe, so there will be (and has been) repeats.

+cardigan: Sourpuss Clothing +dress: Jawbreaker Clothing
+boots: Doc Marten's (eBay)

I'm not complaining, these are just facts. When I get pieces that I love, I pretty much wear them to death and try to mix and match as much as possible.

What sort of shopper are you? Are you constantly adding new pieces or do you love your clothing to death?

Otto's Shrunken Head

Derek and I spent this past weekend visiting with family in New Jersey and celebrating Donald's birthday in New York City. Though our main objective was to attend Donald's birthday party (Saturday evening), we first made a stop at Otto's Shrunken Head for some Tiki delights.

Donald and Derek have been friend's for 15 years, meeting due to Derek thinking he was the singer from Cult of the Psychic Fetus. Though being wrong, it was like they were meant to become friends!

I like this candid shot waiting for the subway.

Otto's front window

I was shocked to see they painted the ladies bathroom! So much cleaner!

I couldn't resist wearing my Shrunken Head skirt by The Oblong Box Shop. I treated myself as soon as I knew they were available. Though the skirt is very cute, I was a tad disappointed with the material, cut and how it looks without a crinoline (I don't like wearing them), BUT the print is amazing! I love shrunken heads!

Mmmmmm! Hehehe! The cocktails are so good I'm going crossed-eyed!

Visiting the city is always a blast, seeing family and friend's was so nice, we squeezed in some vintage shopping and added some Tiki paraphernalia to the collection. Phew, but I'm happy to be home!

Black Velvet and Leopard

Welcome to our wall of velvet paintings! Since I was feeling sassy after getting a hair trim, so I decided to slip on this vintage 60s leopard lounge dress over a pair of cheetah print leggings and gold sandals. The gold sandals were picked up at an estate sale for $3, as I have a 'thing' for gold shoes and was excited to find ones that I really like.

I bought this dress at a local antique mall for $15 and it looks like someone hand sewed large black sequins all over, so it made me love it even more! The asymmetrical hem and flowy nylon fabric makes this lounge dress wonderful for.....well, lounging! Vintage leopard print lounge wear/lingerie by Vanity Fair is very desirable and collectible, yet I love it because it's sexy and leopard!!!

So, what better place to show off this leopard lounger than to pose against our wall-o-velvet?
(PS-The Tiki painting was painted by Derek)

It Was A Kreepsville Sorta Day

Yesterday was a casual look for work, which I was happy that I choose pants and a t-shirt as we were super busy. The running around sorta busy, but I always love my job!

I'm wearing a Vampire t-shirt and skull rose pin from Kreepsville 666, who is one of my favorite kitschy and creepy brands. I paired the t-shirt with a favorite stretch leopard blazer, pointy boots and assorted accessories sprinkled within the outfit. Never enough accessories...NEVER!!!!

But wait! There is more Kreepsville!

New products we got in the shop!

I thought up a blog idea while I was at work yesterday and came home to shoot a preview for the new Kreepsville 666 items. Nine o'clock at night and Derek's out in the garage working on the Tiki bar and I'm upstairs shooting photos. Weirdo's. Hehe!

The little crossbones are hair clips that I put on the dress to add a little sumthin' sumthin', I think they work out quite well! I also have the larger version of the Kattitude bag and I think the little makeup clutch will make a great companion as a travel set!

So here's the Cats Like Us Kreepsville 666 preview blog, all items are awesome and will be available next week!

Hieroglyphics and Bats : Jawbreaker Clothing

I'm always happy to team up with some of my favorite brands that already live in my closet, like Jawbreaker Clothing. I picked out the Bella Cropped Sweatshirt (it feels like a knit), as I wanted to challenge myself on how I would style a cropped top and well, there are bats all over the top!

I am wearing the cropped sweater over a black tank top tucked into a vintage pleated skirt, worn with a studded belt and leather bat belt (more bats!), spider web stockings and my vintage winklepicker boots.

The sweater is super cozy and I plan to wear it over some dresses for added warmth during this weird Spring we've been having. Can it please stop randomly snowing?!

I really, really, REALLY like the hieroglyphic-inspired graphics on the Hieroglyph Dress and swooned when I took the dress out of the package. Then, I got a sense of panic when I realized how form-fitting the dress is (which I knew that when I was looking at the website) and got nervous!

But, when I put the dress on I instantly felt sassy. The cotton dress is very comfortable and it hugs my body perfectly! I've paired the dress with tattered stockings, added a few leather belts, winklepicker booties and threw on a cropped cardigan and black denim vest.

The Egyptian Bast patch on the back of vest is perfect for this outfit.

I really dig Jawbreaker Clothing, we carry the brand at work, so that's how I discovered their awesome styles along with their sister company Voodoo Vixen! They both get the Coffin Kitsch seal of approval, hehe!

P.S-Of course I have to have one outtake!

Kitsch Picks : The Oblong Box Shop

I am excited about these skirts from The Oblong Box Shop! I had been checking their website on and off waiting for these novelty print skirts to be available, because... you know, Tiki! I treated myself to one of the skirts and I'm excited to wear and share it on the blog. I usually don't get this excited about new clothing (to stalk a website), so I jumped at the chance when they became available to order.

In other news: we've started working on our Tiki bar in the garage.

I gave my panoramic feature on my phone a try.

We have a lot of work ahead of us, but our crafty and thrifty ways make us a dynamic duo of crazy!!!! Muahahaaaaaaa!

Little Pineapples

I didn't get a chance to wear this eShakti pineapple sleeveless shirt dress last season, so this was yesterday's work outfit. I paired the dress with a thrifted short sleeve cardigan, slim belt and vintage wooden earrings and bangles, along with my Y.R.U crossbone loafers.

It felt really weird being so exposed! I did get cold during the middle of the day, but lucky we have a lot of clothes to choose from at work. Let's just say I added another black cardigan to the collection. Hehe! I did try to embrace the 60 degree weather, but a chill is still in the air and I'm still going to wear stockings and/or tights until it's unbearable.

A sense a theme of eShakti shirt dresses for the week.....

.......but that's okay, because PINEAPPLES!

Have a great Friday everyone and thank you for the well wishes from my previous blog.  Luckily I don't stay bummed out too long. I'm back to my goofy self. *Wink Wink*

Rough Week

I'm having a bit of a rough week already and it's only Wednesday. Just general melancholy over some minor health issues I've been having which lead to doctor's appointments. My energy level towards figuring out outfits and has been low to none, so I threw on this shirt dress from eShakti. My go-to for work=a shirt dress.

Time for work, but I need to still need to find a sweater.

Sisters of Mercy tile necklace from etsy (I forgot the seller)

I realized I forgot to put earrings on! Hahaha!
