Dorking It Up In My New Doc's

Yippie! My new Dr. Marten 14 hole boots arrived yesterday and I got a chance to run around in them today! Since the sun is shining and I'm in a fantastic mood I ventured out into the world to do some thrifting and dropped the hubby off at work. I'm proud of my purchase as I've been stalking eBay for pair of nice boots at a good price. I bought these brand new and unworn from an eBay seller for $41, what a steal!

Since I'm in a good mood I decided to just be goofy and use my favorite little spot in the living room as my backdrop. This is the place where I sit and blog on my laptop, sip my favorite cocktails and curl up to watch tv when the hubby is not home.

Warning copious amounts of dorkiness ahead. You've been warned! *Wink*

These boots are nice to creep around in
Or to scowl at you in, just kidding <3
Or stand awkwardly in while staring at the
ceiling

Boogie Woogie On A Saturday Night!

What a great way to spend a Saturday night, hanging out at a cool place with cool cats and sippin' on some retro cocktails!? Well, the hubby and I stepped out with our dancing shoes on to enjoy some; swing, jump blues, rhythm & blues, and rockabilly, at event held by our dearest friends who always know how to throw a party! We did do any dancing as we gabbed our heads off, but that's okay as there will be more special events to kick up our heels.

The hubby was taking forever to get ready (it's a price to pay for having a dapper gent on MY arm, teehee), so no pictures of his ensemble. I kept things simple, classic and most importantly, comfortable!

Pinstripe and leopard looks awesome together as they can both be considered
neutrals.

Hair was styled up and back into a
pompadour-esque style
What I wore:
Sweater: from Kohl's
Ruffled front button up top: Urban Behavior (mall store)
Red pinstriped skirt: Living Dead Souls
Western ribbon tie: purchased at cowboy store in Florida
Elastic waist belt: ???
Wedge Mary Janes: Enzo Angiolini $150 shoes I got for $20 at DSW!!!!
Leopard hand bag: Dungaree Dolly
Hair flower and earrings: Claire's stores

Thanks for reading! Come say hi on my Facebook page!

Taking A Step Back In Time

Feeling inspired by Sophistique Noir's A Very Vampy Valentine's Day blog, I decided to share some old photos of yours truly. Most of these photo's are from 2000-2006 era which will include some interesting makeup, hair and fashion choices. Many people are ashamed of their old photo's, but I love to see the progression of one's own tastes as well what we did (to ourselves) in our youth.

You can laugh with, errrr, I mean AT me....I don't mind at all!

Photos from age 19-22:

Naked arms!

Happy to have met Melotron

Photos ages 22-25-I REALLY started loving PVC (vinyl), big hair and dreads a little too much.

Fashion show with the lovely Amy

Apparently I REALLY liked wearing this necklace

Cocktail Friday : McKenzie's Hard Cider

So romantic!
In our house we have a pretty well stocked liquor cabinet, yet sometimes I just want to crack open a cold one for some adult beverage refreshment. Since either my husband nor I like beer, hard cider's are the next best thing (or occasionally those other malt liquor beverages, which are dangerous), like the McKenzie's Black Cherry Cider. Derek doesn't like the taste of the black cherry as he says it tastes like cold medicine, I happen to think it's very good and non-medicine tasting. *Wink* McKenzie's has other flavor's such as Original and Green Apple, all of which are wonderful. Happy Friday!

Shoes! OMG! : Black Stripe Mary Janes

My friend Julie Ann posted these beauties to my Facebook wall and I knew I had to share them with you all! The Black Stripe Mary Jane Platform Wedges from Ami Clubwear are giving me the feeling of spring in the air. These beauties definitely aren't for the faint of heart with a 5 1/4 inch platform, but at least they are a wedge which is generally more comfortable to walk in.

I admit, I am swoony for stripes!
