The Red Jacket

I love the color red, I love read shoes, my hair is red, but for some reason when I wear red I feel like it's screaming, "LOOK AT MEEEE!!!". Well, I've got to get over this as my faithful black jacket (exactly the same as the style above) is getting retired. I bought the black Tripp NYC moto jacket about seven years ago and even though it's still in good shape, I'm not a size small jacket. I have never been a size small jacket in my adult life (wide shoulders), but it fit better back then and now it's just too tight. We had our fun together, now it's time to except I'm losing a wardrobe staple and to move onto wearing jackets that I do have and that do fit comfortably. I am one of those people who wear their favorite things until they are almost to pieces, I try to mend the item or re-purpose it into something, but I will also admit defeat. 

I also lost a favorite button-up "Robert Smith" over-sized shirt in the great spring closet clean out. Sigh. 

But obviously I'm not that broken up about it. Haha! I've just more shocked that the jacket hoarder needs to buy a new black jacket. Let the hunt begin!

All Bundled Up

Take one long sleeve t-shirt, a long sleeve button-up collared shirt, red skull dress, black leggings, two pairs of socks, and a moto style jacket, that is what made up Friday's outfit. Bundled up was an understatement, keeping warm was the name of the game.

It's always a delicate balance of layering to stay warm and layering to not feel/look like a stuffed sausage. "I can't put my arms down!". 

I've been trying to wear every single sweater, jacket or long sleeve whatever in my closet and I'm running out of clothes, so I have an online order for sweaters on the way. The ironic part is that we're supposed to be getting another snow storm, so who knows when they're actually going to arrive. Hahahaha! Oh man.

Kitsch Picks : Tripp NYC Moto Jackets

Moto Jackets from Trash and Vaudeville

I think the Tripp NYC brand has gotten a bad wrap, because commonly people accuse 'mall goths' of ruining the clothing's reputation. I love Tripp NYC moto jackets! I have had my black one for about 6 years and I found a red one at my favorite thrift shop. Score! I recommend these jackets as they are stretch twill cotton, wash great and have lots of pockets. The moto style jacket is also a great style to add your own DIY elements like patches, badges and buttons. It may seem too much for a jacket, but the durability and comfort make them worth their price. Coffin Kitsch approved! *Wink*

Shoes! OMG! : New Rider Platform Bootie

I must admit I am a sucker for red shoes, even though I only own one pair (D'oh!). The New Rider Platform Bootie by Iron Fist caught my attention as I love booties, buckles and red with black. I have to admit I'm not too crazy about the skull print, yet I think it works with the design of this particular bootie, as the black buckles and folded ankle details take center stage. I would pair these with some black skinny jeans or leggings and a moto style jacket to put emphasis on the booties while pairing together an outfit.
