Goth Adventures With The Girls

Saturday, Danielle and I decided to rally the gals (last minute) to make a trip out to Vertex Nightclub in Rochester, NY. For some reason I was in such a rush (I painted my nails in the car, haha!) that I didn't get a chance to take any outfit photos before leaving the house. At least I got this one good mirror shot before the gail force winds ruined my hair.

Danielle snapped a few photos of me in the ladies room, as you can see I like to 'blend in' with my environment. I don't know why I look so angry, when I was really like this:

LOL!!!

Pretty Danielle on the left and lovely Jenny on the right.

There was only 3 of us that went, but we had a really great time! I drank white wine, danced to some goth classics and chatted with our Rochester friends. I have to tell you, staying out till 4:30am is really hard when you're usually in bed at 10:30. I know, I'm a party animal. *Wink*.

In other non-goth club related news, we got a Keurig coffee maker! I'm so happy that we took the plunge after I did research on finding reusable K-Cups in order to reduce waste.

Fake smile, tired girl

Perhaps the fact that I'm exhausted prompted me to want to ditch our old coffee maker (well, it will go to a thrift store or to anyone who would like it) and buy this pretty red thing at Target. This girl needs her coffee daily!

I'm going to try and keep myself awake until Downton Abbey which airs at 9pm, perhaps I'll use my Keurig!

Thanks for reading! Sleepily yours,
XOXO-Meagan Kyla

  1. I LOVE your outfit - probably my favouritest ever!

I keep hearing about Downton Abbey, but I've probably missed so much by now that it's not worth starting to watch, right? :P

    1. Thank you!
Downton Abbey is amazing. If you have Netflix you'd be able to see the first season and I believe Amazon has their instant watch rental thingie for both the first and second.
It's so good, I would just dive in if you want to!

  2. I especially love the second shot of you. Your outfit is amazing! With the cool black walls, I didn't realise it was a bathroom until I saw the shot below. I like your friends outfits too! You all have a great sense of style.

  3. That first photo is my favorite hair shot of you so far! You look fabulous, top to toe, as do your lovely companions!

Oh, and YAY KEURIG!! :-D I drink light roast decaf, and Mr. Kitty drinks super-dark roast super-caf, so that invention has truly made our marriage perfect. ;)

    1. My hair totally has a mind of it's own, Hahaha! I'm growing out the length and I'm not too sure what's in store. Bigger, crimpier and more hair spray, that's for sure! I thank you for your kind words, I definitely loved my outfit last night, so comfortable too!

The Keurig is just such an amazing and I think it's going to make our lives so much easier too. I've joined the cult. ;)

    1. Thank you! My hair is getting longer (which is what I want), but I have a lot of it. It's getting harder to 'give it up' <----hahahaa!

  6. Wow! That outfit is stunning! And so is your hairdo :) so 80s goth!
I also have that Restyle necklace and a rosary and they're among my favourite pieces of jewelry :D they match the clothes perfectly. The skirt seems awesome too but I can't see it very well because, as you said, it blended in XD

    1. Thank you! My husband bought me the necklace some years ago from Amazon, I love it though it pokes me a little. Hehehee.

  7. I'm another fan of the hair! Love it! I'm glad you got to go out dancing with the girls - I wish I had friends who would enjoy dancing with me at a goth club. Maybe someday!

  8. Eeee! You're a Downton fan too! It's so insanely cheesy and terrible and over the top, but I absolutely love it and am already itching to catch up on the most recent series when I return home from halls.

I have to say, your club going outfit is magnificent! Please style me everyday, ha ha. :P

Oh goodness, I'm a British mini drama crazied loon! Then again I love period pieces in general! It's funny that you cheesy, because I totally agree...and I love it!

    2. Pahaha, I definitely did need a bit of guidance when I first started down the dark and gloomy path, and looking at my wardrobe could probably still use my own personal stylist. ;)

Period dramas do make my heart flutter. By every right I should really hate Downton for it's silly characters and melodrama, but I still adore it. Have you tried upstairs downstairs?

    3. I have heard of Upstairs Downstairs as there is one from the 80s on Netflix, but I would like to watch the newer version (or am I just making the newer one up?)

    4. Oh no, the newer version exists and is very awesome - regrettably they aren't making any more seasons, but I fully recommend it, as it has all the drama and addictiveness of Downton but is better written. Plus it has the Duke of Kent, who makes me want to fling myself into a pit of lava every time he comes on screen due to his sheer perfection.

  11. I wish I knew about reusable cups; I won a Keurig from a blog giveaway a year ago and sold it because I couldn't justify the waste. Now I see the reusable cups and kick myself!

Your outfit is divine, and love the bathroom shots - best club pics are taken there! And I hear you, I need major caffeine to survive past 10:30 these days, but it's worth it for a great night!!

    1. I only bought the Keurig after researching the reusable filters. We're using some pre-packed K Cups right now and it hurts my heart to be throwing them in trash as we're waiting for our Amazon order to ship to us. I bought 2 EkoBrew refillable filters which got very good reviews.

Thank you! We had a lot of fun just being silly girls in the bathroom ;)
