After I got home from work on Friday (the 13th!) I decided to slip into this lush velvet dress along with some pointy boots as Derek and I were going to go out for a nice meal. I went to the tattoo shop only to see that Derek and all the guys were slammed as they were having a 'first come, first serve' Friday the 13th themed tattoo special. So, I jumped in to lend a hand and by the time Derek was done it was 10:45pm and too late for eating out. Can't complain and it's always great when the shop is busy!
I had snapped a few camera pics with my phone as I really liked what I was wearing and finally realized I could layer this dress with a blouse underneath. Now I have more styling options and will be wearing the dress more often as winter is the perfect time to wear velvet!

A Hot Topic dress? Well, so it's apparently true that a person with an eye for outfits can shop their garments in any shady shop and still look dashing :D But no, this dress looks surprisingly nice, it seems so so soft and I'd love to see it with a mid-calf tulle skirt underneath <3
ReplyDeleteIt is shockingly nice! I still can't believe it's fully lined, has a nice weight to it and has a fantastic style over all. I shopped at Hot Topic in the 90s and had some beautiful garments (before they turned into what they are now) that I loved to death.

I'm in absolutely envy of that outfit it's a gorgeous combination with the lace velvet dress and the Victorian high neck blouse. It's defiantly not something I would ever been creative of enough to put together. It looks amazing.
