What's Black and White All Over?

Well, it's me. It's me most of the time. Hahaha! I do have to point out that there is a pop of Pink Flamingo, since they are the kitschiest birds around! 

Vulcan Butterfly wrote about a skirt that is a Wardrobe Workhorse and this black circle skirt by Steady Clothing is one of mine. I have to stop myself from wearing it everyday as it truly goes with everything! From t-shirts to blouses, sweaters and collared button-up's, this skirt has my heart.

Wearing; black & white blouse (hottopic.com), cardigan (old, Kohl's), pink flamingo brooch (Charcoal Designs), skirt (Steady Clothing), heart tights (???), Mary Janes (vintage, Dr. Martens)

My hair was sort of an accident, I was trying to figure out what to do with it as it was close to hair washing day (Have I ever mentioned I hate washing my hair?!!!) and this bouffant 60s-esque do' was born. So. Much. Hairspray.

First OOTD of 2016

Hello all you fancy people! I'm starting off 2016 with my favorite combination, black and white! This Lip Service Blacklist label button-up has sat in the 'club clothing' section far too long and has not been worn in years....until today!

This blouse was a gift from Derek (about 7 years ago) and I'm glad it still fits! I paired it with my favorite skater skirt (from H&M), black cotton leggings (Target), Dr. Marten 16 hole boots and my trusty ponte knit blazer (Target). It's cold and snowy today, so I layered up for work!

I also dug around in my jewelry box and re-discovered this beaded fabric rosette brooch. I pinned the brooch to the top of the Lip Service blouse, because  I think it adds that little 'something' to the outfit. Oh, and my theory about jacket lapels; they are perfect places for brooches/pins, so the Kreepsville 666 rhinestone brooch was added for a little sparkle. Also pictured: rhinestone dangle cross earrings in mid flight. Weeeeee!

I Dream of Shoes : Pascal Hell Boot

Derek was paging through a Journey's catalog and exclaimed, "This is Hieronymous Bosch's art on a Doc!". We both enjoy his religious artwork from the 15th century and thought that the Pascal Hell Boot by Dr. Martens is pretty darn amazing!

Outfit of the Day : Red Skull Dress

After quite a few days of not feeling well, I slipped on my new red skull dress by Folter Clothing and it instantly put a smile on my face! This cotton dress is so comfortable and the length is just perfect!

I love cute novelty print dresses, but I tend to shy away unless it's a print I can live with...and these lovely big skulls had to be mine. Then again if something is covered in bats I tend to run to it, hug it and want it and love it forever and ever! 

Derek and I went out for a drink and he commented, "Oh, is that dress new?!". He liked it. :)

Shoes! OMG! : Dr. Martens Battersea Sneaker Boot

The idea of a Dr. Martens 14-eye sneaker boot intrigues me. I have to say I love the look of these canvas shoes as it gives the look of wearing combat boots, but they seem to be lighter and more flexible to wear for the warmer months. I enjoy wearing my summer dresses with my Docs, but they can get hot and heavy, perhaps the Battersea's are a nice alternative!
