Yep, I switched up the hair color to purple. My hair is a bit of a "work in progress" seeing as I'm going from permanent red and switching to a semi-permanent (vegetable based) hair color, so the red is still peeking through since I don't want to kill my hair with bleach. Step by step. *Wink* I did love my red hair, but it was ready for a change as I seem to like to do from year to year.

Yes, I have dyed my hair purple. It is my very favorite hair color. I swear it looks good on everybody. I used Paul Mitchell Inkworks the last time I did it.
ReplyDeleteYay, purple hair! :) The "work in progress" looks pretty cool. I used to dye my hair purple, and Special Effects worked best for me.
ReplyDeleteI used Manic Panic Plum back in the day (1992ish); last year I used Splat Rebellious Colors which I actually found at a pharmacy and it worked surprisingly well.
ReplyDeleteI dyed it a very dark purple almost black last year. It looked really nice. I used to bleach my hair a lot when I was younger and purple was one of them. I used Manic Panic. I love your hair!

I was a huge fan of Punky Colours back in the day. I don't think they are around anymore, though. They had a super rich formula so the color was super pigmented. I loved it. I tried every color they had. If you find any, give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to go a dark burgundy purple but something went awry and I now have strange red hair.... I'll figure something out.
Love it!! I have been purple quite a few times, and my favourites change depending on what condition my hair is in ... I'm still looking for the 'perfect purple' that will last more than a week - last time I used Manic Panic's Ultra Violet, as well as Crazy Colors Violette.

ReplyDeleteLove it! When I used to dye my hair unnatural colours, the best stuff I ever used was Special Effects.
ReplyDeleteI've only used MP for my purples- UltraViolet, Purple Haze, and my own mixture of Hot Hot Pink and Shocking Blue. They all fade to pink on me, never silver. Boo. I'm hanging out with turquoise and green for a while.
