I Dream of Shoes : Jeffrey Campbell Pizza Hi-Top Platform Sneakers

What do you get when you take your love of pizza and put it into shoe form? The Jeffrey Campbell Pizza Hi-Top Platform Sneakers! These are making me hungry, mmmmm! But seriously, these are sorta ridiculous, but I believe the pizza applique comes off and then you've got a pretty awesome pair of striped platform sneakers. Pizza or no pizza, I would like a pair on my feet, please!

Cemetery Scene : Rockin' Bones

I took advantage of Rockin' Bones cyber Monday 50% off sale that took place after Thanksgiving back in November. I bought the Cemetery L/S Top in a large (I wanted it to be oversized) and I ordered the Cemetery Mini Skirt in the 16 inch length. I am happy to report that I love the cotton shirt, the silk screening is awesome and washed up great! On the other hand, I am sad to write that I am extremely disappointed with the Cemetery Skirt. Due to the heavy silk screening on the cotton skirt (similar to the one I'm wearing) it doesn't allow it to stretch and I can't even put it on. I hate to ever speak ill of an independent company, yet this one was a total miss. *Sad face* I think I will turn the skirt into a patch.

I was digging around in my closet and I keep going back and forth on whether I want to get rid of my old creeper boots. Since it makes me sad to think I've been ignoring these beauties, so I pulled them out of the closet and am actively putting them back into the rotation. They are a little stiff, but hopefully I'll finally get over the pain I experience in the back of my heels, which is probably why they get banished to the closet for long periods of time. Trying to break in boots that are 10+ years old may not be a good idea, but I'll give it the ole' college try....again. Hehe!

I'm wearing a giftmas present from Derek which are the pewter bone hoops by Martha Rotten. I know I've mentioned Martha Rotten on the blog before, so I'm excited to have some of her pieces added to my collection. I have my eye on the Sister Rotten necklace, Bone Stretch Bracelet and Cross Necklace.
Oh accessories, how I love thee!

Kitsch Picks : eShakti

(click on links below)

I've seen eShakti mentioned around the blogosphere, but never really dove into their website to see what they have to offer until now. I like that you could customize their clothing and that they offered a wide variety of sizing from 0-36W. I was pleasantly surprised to find a number of items that were very cute and had great customizing options like; adding sleeves or changing the length of hem lines. I am impressed and I forsee an order in my future!

Have you shopped with eShakti?

Swing Dance!

Derek looking dapper in his (ridiculous) purple suit that we got
from a thrifting adventure. He always looks great!

One activity that Derek and I like to do is go to The Next Generation Swing Dance which is held once-a-month at the beautiful Hamlin House in Buffalo. Though we don't always join in every month, it's a nice excuse to get dresses up and put on our dancing shoes!

We're not very good swing dancers by any means and we really need to take some lessons, but it's fun to both be confused on the dance floor when Derek doesn't really know what he's doing and I'm trying to follow. Basically we just laugh at each other the whole we're out on the dance floor. Excellent date night!

I didn't get any shots of my outfit as I was feeling uninspired due to the cold and a chance didn't arise to snap a decent photo, but I snapped a few photos of my hair as I haven't done a good roller set in a while. For this hair style I used a big barrel curling iron as my trusty (and old) 1 1/2" curling iron died upon plugging it in! My hot rollers died a while ago, so I had to make due with my 2" curling iron for my whole head. I was up for the challenge.

Tools of attack!

My hair was a little messy, but I didn't do too bad!  My hair has been so short with the mohawk style that trying to a vintage-inspired style just wasn't in the cards. Now with my hair becoming longer, I have more hair to play with and it's fun to mess around with it once more. I like the way I styled my hair around the shaved side as it creates the look of having one side 'pulled back', though there is just no hair there! Hahaha!

Though my hair appliances are dying, now I have a good excuse to buy a new curling wand and give myself big, big hair! *A gal can dream*

I Dream of Shoes : Notion by Fluevog

Damn me for checking my email spam folder and then clicking on the email from Fluevog about 'things on sale'. Damn it! I loved the Notion flats when they were full price and I love them even more now that they are on sale. Sigh.
