Dia de los Muertos is a day to remember our loved ones and friends who have passed on. I have lit a few candles amongst our personal mini altar to remember and honor the fond memories of my Aunt, Grandparents and several others who are no longer with us on this Earth, but their spirit still lives with me always.

This is a lovely altar. My grandmother is very recently deceased, and I'm thinking about visiting her grave today. I'd love to make an altar one of these years.
ReplyDeleteNice collection. My aunt is a Spanish teacher and she actually commissioned an artist in Mexico to make her a Day of the Dead collection of people doing everyday things. This was a long time ago before you could find anything like that. I will ask her about it. Maybe I can get some pictures of it.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds amazing, Rhonda! I would love to see some pictures!
DeleteI love the idea of Dia de los Muertos because they remember their ancestors, but it is not too sad, they make bread for the dead, and have parties, and remember the happy times. Also I think the dead would love to come to a good party! I like cultures where death is something you can talk about!
